This Listed Londoner has the huge responsibility of managing much of W1.

Originally from Glasgow, Mark Kildea is the Chief Executive of the Howard de Walden Estate, which owns and manages much of Marylebone and Harley Street.

Mark came down to London in the 80s, initially to work in the rapidly expanding financial sector. He joined The Howard de Walden Estate as Finance Director in 2011 before becoming Chief Executive in 2020.

Today he oversees a £4.5 billion portfolio spanning around 95 acres of Marylebone, including some 800 buildings and much of the neighbourhood surrounding Marylebone High Street.

Alongside a broad aim of preserving historic London amid the demands of a modern global city, he is particularly focused on transforming Harley Street into a district for medical innovation and technology.

Mark Kildea revealed his London favourites, memories, pet-hates and everything in between with Robert Elms.
