Radio Sussex

Kamilah McInnis is back behind the mic and hears from Gavin Mensah-Coker and Dr Fezile Sibanda about Black at Sussex. Created to support black students and staff, the University of Sussex initiative is now in its final year. Has it made the impact it set out to achieve? Also on the programme, Prof Kene Igweonu, deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Brighton, reflects on moving to the UK from Nigeria and the barriers he encountered on his journey to senior leadership. He explains why he’s working to open doors for more black and brown leaders. And Southampton artist Mr Buoyant wears many hats - performer, entrepreneur and father. He joins Kamilah to talk about ambition, afrobeats and championing the genre across the south of England. Join Kamilah McInnis every Friday from 7pm-10pm for great tunes, good vibes and conversations from our African and Caribbean communities.
