with Shilpa: Dance Found Me

Available for 34 days

New voices and new sounds from the Asian Network. Dance wasn’t something Shilpa Sajan set out to do, it found her. In her final Asian Network Represents show, she looks back at the moment a family friend put her on stage at an Onam celebration, setting her on a path from shy childhood performances to Bollywood dance competitions at university and performing at Wembley with Anirudh Ravichander. Soundtracked by the Bollywood hits that inspired her, Shilpa revisits the songs, friendships and unforgettable moments that made dance such a big part of her life. From chasing her inner Katrina Kaif to performing in front of thousands, she reflects on the joy of finding a creative passion, and how dance has kept her feeling alive. Produced in Birmingham by Solis Productions for BBC Asian Network.
