A dramatic upset for the Republican party in the United States as voters rebuke the politics of President Donald Trump in the midterm elections. The Democrats are on track to win a large majority in the House and also look likely to have a Senate majoirty with six or more seats. There have been some historic wins in Texas and Kansas and it has been a night of firsts, with the first black female governor elected, the first openly gay senator, and the first Latina governor. President Trump has said he will accept the election results but he blamed the losses on the fact he was not on the ballot.
