Heart of Midlothian will be without Calvin Miller for two months after the winger suffered a knee injury that requires surgery in Sunday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final defeat by Hibernian.

Thomas Magnusson will also be out until after the international break after the midfielder suffered concussion in the first half at Hampden Park.

It adds to Hearts' already lengthy injury list that means head coach Wouter Vrancken will take only 19 players - six short of the normal maximum squad size of 25 - to Switzerland for Thursday's Conference League match against Thun.

The absence of Miller and Magnusson means the Edinburgh side now have 10 first-team players sidelined through injury.

Vrancken said of Miller: "It will be two months, let's say, depending on what the surgery says because it's a meniscus injury.

"It's a pity, but it is what it is.

"Tomas is doing good. The day after was already a lot better.

"There is a protocol, of course, with concussions. He will be for sure back after the break."

Hearts took an early lead at Hampden, but Magnusson was then forced off after only 14 minutes.

Miller, who had set up Claudio Braga's opener, himself followed to the dressing room on 37 minutes, with Hibs taking a 2-1 lead shortly after.

Until his injury, the uncapped 28-year-old was being touted by some as a possible inclusion in the latest Scotland squad announced by Vrancken's fellow Belgian, Sebastien Pocognoli, after fellow winger Josh McPake and striker James Wilson were called up last month.
