After a string of matches where Portsmouth came out on top or drew very close games there's a certain irony that the Blues were defeated after producing possibly their best half of the season.

In fact they paid the price for not converting that dominance in the first 45 minutes into more than a one-goal lead.

Stoke improved after the second half but their goals, particularly the first one, were soft.

Nico Schmid has made some good saves since returning to the team but his position will come into question after today.

John Mousinho's comments at the end of his interview - questioning "what this team wants to be" - were fascinating.

He's previously sidestepped any questions about the play-offs or the league position, but clearly he believes this side has the capability to hang around in the top half of the division at the very least.
