BBC Concert Orchestra 2026-2027 Southbank Centre Unclassified Live with Julia Holter

At a live edition of the BBC Radio 3 show, avant-pop artist Julia Holter joins the BBC Concert Orchestra, conductor André de Ridder and presenter Elizabeth Alker.

Tonight’s performance sees the Los Angeles-based composer, performer and recording artist collaborate with the BBC Concert Orchestra, playing music from Holter’s own acclaimed albums and music chosen by her.

Holter has a long-standing interest in sonic mysteries that has led her to record in various settings – in her home, outside with a field recorder and in recording studios – as well as performing live.

Holter’s music is multi-layered and texturally rich, and she has amassed a body of work that explores melody within free song structures, atmosphere and the impulses of the voice.

Presenter Elizabeth Alker guides us through this live concert performance of the much-loved BBC Radio 3 show, with on-stage introductions and interviews.
