After the verdict, Russell Brand returns to the dock to hear details of his sentencing hearing, which will take place on Monday.

Brand is sitting down, his wife is absent from the public gallery.

For what I think is the first time during this trial, the door to the dock is closed.

The judge thanks the defence for submissions and confirms we’ll meet again on Monday at 10:30 GMT for sentencing.

Brand exits the dock and is remanded in custody - he’s refused bail.

As he leaves the dock, he mouths "I'm good, I'm good" to his defence counsel.

His walk was steady paced and he continued to show little emotion.

Warning: This post contains distressing details

As a reminder, Russell Brand has been found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

The comedian and actor has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a bar in London in 2004.

They’d been at a birthday party in Soho and had been chatting at the bar for less than a minute when Brand grabbed her breasts.

He has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at the Choice FM studios in London in either 2004 or 2005. He grabbed her face and kissed her before touching her breasts and bottom.

Brand has also been found guilty of raping a woman at his then home in London in 2009, days after meeting her at the Hammersmith Apollo theatre where he’d been performing a comedy show.

She visited his home in Hampstead where they had consensual sex before he anally raped her. She had told the court “he hurt me and harmed me and when I asked him to stop he didn’t”.

Brand has also been found guilty of a sexual assault charge while working on a Channel 4 project in 2009.

The 51-year-old laid his head into the groin area of a woman working with him at the time without her consent.

The woman said his mouth and nose were in her vaginal area. She told the court she was repulsed at the situation and reported the incident to her line manager at the time.

We can now bring you reaction from the Metropolitan Police.

"Today's verdict is first and foremost a testament to the extraordinary courage, resilience and determination of the women who came forward and reported what happened to them," Det Supt Andy Furphy says.

"Despite intense media and public scrutiny, they relived deeply personal and traumatic experiences and placed their trust in us. Without their bravery, this outcome would not have been possible.

"Brand used his influence, status and fame to exploit and sexually offend against women.

"As his profile grew, so too did his sense of entitlement. I hope this conviction sends a clear message that no one is above the law, no matter how famous or powerful they may be.

"I want to pay tribute to the team of detectives and specialist staff who worked tirelessly on this investigation. Their professionalism, determination and compassion for the victims represent the very best of the Metropolitan Police.

"Finally, I would urge anyone who may have been a victim of rape or serious sexual assault to speak to us.

"You will be listened to, supported, and treated with dignity and respect."

The court was incredibly quiet as the verdicts were read out.

Brand looked to the ceiling just before he heard the voice of the jury foreman.

His wife looked pink in the face as she watched on from the public gallery. A woman held her hand tightly.

As the guilty verdicts were read out, Laura Brand appeared to blink. Her husband continued to be incredibly still and appeared to show no emotion.

He closed his eyes when the guilty rape verdict was delivered.

On the first day of the trial, the prosecution set out details of the alleged offences involving the six women. The prosecutor described Brand as a "sexual predator" whose "strong desire for some form of sexual contact was indiscriminate and voracious".

The prosecutor also said Brand told police in 2023 "he has never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity".

After hearing testimony from the complainants and several witnesses, Brand took to the stand on 28 October.

He told the jury the allegations had been "deeply traumatic" and had a "devastating" impact on him. The 51-year-old said he believes sexual consent is "fundamental".

In his closing speech, Brand's defence barrister said there was "no evidence he is some sort of psychopath who rapes people and thinks it's normal".
