The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships are well underway in Netherlands and, despite outstanding individual performances Great Britain's men's team narrowly missed out on a podium spot, finishing in fourth place.

That meant they failed to qualify early for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles but will get another chance to reach the 2028 Games at next year's World Championships.

But the team, which included Courtney Tulloch, Joe Fraser, Jake Jarman, Harry Hepworth and Reuben Ward, finished with a total score of 247.395, behind Japan (251.928), Russia (250.329) and China (249.193).

Joe Fraser, who will compete for the men's all-around title alongside team mate Jake Jarman, told BBC Sport that the team were "gutted now - but we come back stronger every time".

Spinning, tumbling and flipping at great speeds takes a lot of strain and creates intense g-force, which shows on the athletes faces!

GB's women unfortunately missed out on a place in the team final after they finished ninth in qualifying.

Uneven bars specialist Becky Downie told BBC Sport the experience was a learning process and the group "will be even stronger for it."

However, there are more medal chances for both the British men and women over the coming days.

The best all-around gymnasts will compete on all available apparatus on Thursday and Friday, in what is considered one of the most prestigious titles in the sport.

The men compete on Thursday and the women take to the arena on Friday. Abi Martin and Alice Kinsella will compete for Great Britain.

The weekend will then see athletes compete on their best apparatus.

From GB's team, this will see Jake Jarman on Floor and Vault and Courtney Tulloch on Pommel and Rings.

Abi Martin will take on the Vault, Beam and Floor and Alice Kinsella will compete on the Beam and Floor.
