Bonfire Night: How to stay safe around fireworks
Bonfire night is coming up, which means there will be firework displays and sparklers. But fireworks can be really dangerous, so what is the best way to stay safe?
Firefighter Steve Jordan from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) came to the Newsround studio to give his advice.
He said the fire service try to make sure everyone has an "enjoyable but safe evening".
How to stay safe
Try to go to an approved or recognised bonfire night.
If you are having one at home, make sure the fireworks have the CE safety mark on them, ensure an adult is responsible for lighting them, never go back to a lit firework, and store fireworks in a secure metal box.
Sparklers should only be used by children over five years old, hold them at arm's length wearing gloves, and don't put them near anyone's face.
Keep pets indoors.
