  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:19 BST 3 September

    Nicholls c Ingram b Crane 19 (Somerset 212-4 v Glam 194)

Henry Nicholls is looking to sweep from well outside off and takes a top edge on to his pad which loops up to first slip where Colin Ingram takes the catch.

Somerset have wobbled here from 208-2 with a Tom Lammonby century looking written in the stars, they have lost two in six balls.

  2. Kent begin second inningspublished at 14:16 BST 3 September

    Kent 0-0 & 238 v Worcestershire 217

After securing a 21-run lead thanks to an excellent morning and post-lunch burst, Kent safely negotiate the first over of their second innings from Tom Taylor.

After Worcestershire were 125-2 yesterday, the home side would have bitten yours, mine, and probably everyone at the St.Lawrence Ground arms off to be in this position.

Yes, that's a lot of arms but they have a great platform now.

Over to messers Crawley and Compton.

Tom Lammonby is dismissed for 95 against Glamorgan

You could not make this up.

Twice reprieved with no balls when twice caught behind - the first called for three fielders behind square on the leg side on 91 and the second when Dan Douthwaite overstepped.

Given a chance to reach a first century of his campaign on a silver platter he has had his head scrambled and gifted a leading edge back to Douthwaite.

That is now five half centuries unconverted from Lammonby who had looked a million dollars until he was into his 90s.

  4. Lammonby escapes again!published at 14:11 BST 3 September

    Somerset 208-2 v Glam 194

Tom Lammonby has been reprieved by a no ball on 91 and now he has survived again off a no ball from Dan Douthwaite on 94.

Escape by three fielders behind square when nicking off to Douthwaite in the last over, he has now edged behind only for the bowler to be called for overstepping.

If Lammonby does not make a hundred here the gods will be in mischievous form.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:08 BST 3 September

    Thomas LBW Hill 0 (Surrey 44-5 v Yorks 185)

Surrey five down and George Hill has his second of the session.

Adam Thomas is hit on the back pad and the umpire raises his finger immediately.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:07 BST 3 September

    Jani c Brown b Abbott 2 (Hants v Warks 269-4)

Hampshire delay taking the new ball to give spinner Andrew Neal one more over.

But tbey strike as soon as they claim it and Kyle Abbott has his second wicket.

Vansh Jani hangs his bat out and is caught behind

  7. 100 runs

    100 for Bracey!published at 14:05 BST 3 September

    Bracey 100, Gloucs 179-7

James Bracey has scored well over 50% of the runs in this Gloucestershire innings

James Bracey brings up his 20th first-class century scampering a two off a well-controlled pull from a short Ben Aitchison delivery.

He reaches the landmark off 148 balls.

A spectacular innings under pressure for his side, he has been a leading light in a forgettable season for Gloucestershire.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:04 BST 3 September

    Westley b Carson 17 (Essex 78-2 v Sussex 275)

Tom Westley has gone down on one knee in an effort to sweep Jack Carson to the rope but has missed and lost his bails as the ball sneaks through to hit middle.

  9. Let off for Lammonbypublished at 14:03 BST 3 September

    Somerset 201-2 v Glam 194

Tom Lammonby has nicked off to Dan Douthwaite and starts to walk off, stranded nine short of his century but the umpire has signalled a no ball.

What has happened is that Glam have allowed square leg to drift just behind the crease line making it three behind square on the leg side.

Square leg umpire Michael Gough has signalled it and replays show he was right.

Lammonby cannot believe his luck and he has another chance to try and reach his century.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Sam Hainpublished at 14:00 BST 3 September

    Hants v Warks 265-3

Sam Hain turns one around his pads for two to bring up his half century.

He's had to do plenty of running, he's only scored three boundaries.

He was dropped on 32 by Tony Albert who, alas puts down another chance at slip when Hain's on 52.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:00 BST 3 September

    Finch lbw b Hasan Mahmud 7 (Kent 238 v Worcestershire 217)

Won't see a more plumb one today.

Hasan Mahmud puts on on a length, pitching middle and off, slight angle in, hits Adam Finich just below the knee roll. It's clattering into middle.

Finch and the unbeaten Ben Allison are leaving it.

Worcestershire will feel they've let that all slip away.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:58 BST 3 September

    McSweeney lbw b Stokes 3 (Northants 37-3 v Durham 205)

    Looks marginal. But it's out.

Nathan McSweeney's not sure and he might have a case.

Angled in by Ben Stokes in that usual way and leg stump is almost visible as the ball hits McSweeney's front pad.

You'd refer that for sure if you could but you can't and he's got to go.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:55 BST 3 September

    Foakes c Bess b Hill 9 (Surrey 42-4 v Yorks 185)

    Big wicket this.

Ben Foakes has to play at a testing delivery from George Hill and Dom Bess takes a good low catch at slip.

  14. dropped catch

Elgar dropped on 25published at 13:51 BST 3 September

    Essex 65-1 v Sussex 275

Tom Haines gets a hand to a well-struck punch from Dean Elgar at short midwicket but can't hang on. That would have been a superb grab.

He moves into third slip and the ball follows him off the edge of Tom Westley's bat, again off Ari Karvelas, but not sure whether that one actually carried.

if it did it would have been half an inch off the dirt.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:48 BST 3 September

    Harrison c Agarwal b Parkinson 4 (Northants 28-2 v Durham 205)

Top edge. Calvin Harrison knew immediately.

We've seen some wickets fall to ones that have ragged wildly. This one doesn't but does enough to take the outside portion of Harrison's full-bodied slog-sweep.

Up, up, and away it goes. Mayank Agarwal has all the time in the world at cover point to wait for it as it comes down.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:48 BST 3 September

Yates LBW Neal 109 (Hants v Warks 256-3)

Spinner Andrew Neal strikes with the old ball.

He pins Rob Yates back after turning the ball in the rough.

A great innings from Yates who put on 94 with Sam Hain.

  17. "New ball make or break" - Dawsonpublished at 13:47 BST 3 September

    Hants v Warks 256-2

Liam Dawson on BBC commentary, with the new ball due in five overs:

"This new ball is going to be absolutely crucial to open this game up.

It'll be make or break. If we don't make inroads with that new ball it's going to be very hard to win this game."

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:43 BST 3 September

    Swanepoel c Dudgeon b Milnes 6 (Kent 238 v Worcestershire 208-9)

A slap to point. Still 30 short.

Canny from Matt Milnes who's put one wide of the slot in an attempt to draw Beyers Swanepoel into something.

The South African responds with something wild - throwing his hands, armchair and bag of spanners at it. Which is fine if you miss the fielder.

He doesn't. Keith Dudgeon holds on well.

    Kent nearly there.

  19. Postpublished at 13:40 BST 3 September

    Surrey 33-3 v Yorks 185

It's not been a batter's game at The Oval but that's a glorious shot from Ollie Pope.

Straight through long off for four, only Surrey's fifth boundary in 15 overs.

  20. Back out at Southamptonpublished at 13:38 BST 3 September

    Hants v Warks 251-2

Frustrating already for Hampshire after lunch as Ricardo Fuller finds Sam Hain's edge.

The first flies past a diving slip, the second goes through along the ground.
