Manchester City have not blown away any opposition on their return to the Champions League and came into this match with two points from their opening two games.
They have faced their toughest league phase opponents early on though and will be pleased to remain unbeaten, albeit with work to do to ensure they progress to the knockout stages.
It was largely a quiet affair on Thursday night with neither team settling into their stride or able to sustain periods of control.
City had the better of the chances in the first half as Shaw came close when she struck wide from just outside the box and a few set-pieces were headed off target.
But it was a relief for supporters watching in the cold at the Joie Stadium when the half-time whistle went and a forgettable 45 minutes came to an end.
The game needed a spark and there were opportunities in the second half as Paris St-Germain captain Sakina Karchaoui whipped a dangerous free-kick inches over the bar, before Shaw had a decent effort tipped behind by goalkeeper Oliwia Peda and she then headed wide from a cross.
It was a showdown that underwhelmed but suddenly burst to life in the final 10 minutes as Shaw's penalty seemed to give City the victory they had been waiting for until it was quickly cancelled out by Gilbert's clinical break.
Jeglertz's side have work to do as a result to ensure they book a place in the knockout stages but they have played their strongest opponents and have showed enough to suggest they will be fine.
“We were drawn against six teams and we've played the three toughest of them, I think,” said Jeglertz.
“Now, we have three games that we have the opportunity, again, to get the points we need to qualify for the next round. That’s our goal. Nothing has changed.”
