FT: Heart of Midlothian 2-5 Falkirk

Falkirk have scored five goals at Tynecastle for the first time since season 1916-17, according to our reporter, Brian McLauchlin.

In response, manager John McGlynn says: "It's 31 years since Jim Jefferies team went five wins in a row and we're delighted to equal that.

"After the international break, we are against St Johnstone, who are a very good side, but we'd hope to make it six.

"We are obviously delighted with the players - they've been fantastic."

Asked about the prospect of qualifying for Europe, McGlynn adds: "It is striking a balance without getting carried away and not playing it down too much.

"Winning five games in a row, you've obviously got something about you. We want it to continue because we're enjoying this.

"But we're only 13 games in. There's a long way to go, so we've got to keep our feet on the ground and enjoy seeing our team third in the league when it comes on the TV."

  7. McGlynn hails 'outstanding performance'published at 17:39 GMT

FT: Heart of Midlothian 2-5 Falkirk

Falkirk manager John McGlynn is delighted to have taken the three points against his former side.

"We were coming into the game on a high - four in a row and we had only lost one goal in the last four games," he tells BBC Scotland.

"So we were in a confident, feel-good factor mood and we got off to the best possible start.

"Our tails were up and we knew that would have a knock-on effect on Hearts, who came into the game with a lot of injuries.

"We were outstanding after that, we were so good, so clinical as well.

"Some really good goals. An absolutely outstanding performance in the first half.

"It is difficult to put two of them together, but that's difficult, but Hearts are at home and we have to anticipate them and we get off to another good start in the second.

"They changed their shape and we had to defend and thankfully we defended most things.

"Fair play to the lads, they saw it out and 5-2 - I'm biting your hand off for that."
