Summary

  1. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 24 October

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

After a fairly even opening, it is Rodney McAree’s men who have settled into possession and are starting to take control of the game.

  2. Postpublished at 15:13 BST 24 October

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

Kealan Dillon steps up to take it, but his low effort lacks the power to trouble PJ Morrison, who sees it all the way and gathers comfortably.

  3. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 24 October

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

    Paul Leeman
Former Glentoran captain on BBC Sport NI

He's reckless and out of control. Crusaders' bench are arguing but I don't think there can be any arguments. There's no hesitant from the referee.

  4. RED CARDpublished at 15:12 BST 24 October

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

Crusaders will play the remaining 80 minutes of this game with 10 men following the dismissal of defender Scot Rough.

The big Scot went into a challenge with Coleraine's Ben Wylie on the touchline and referee Shane Andrews had no hesitation producing the red card.

Not what Crues boss Declan Caddell needed.

  5. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 24 October

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

The Swifts have a free-kick in a dangerous position after Shaun Leppard brings down Junior right on the edge of the box.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:09 BST 24 October

    Carrick Rangers 0-0 Limavady United

First booking of the day is awarded to Carrick forward Adam Lecky for a high foot.

No other chances so far since Paul Heatley went close.

  7. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 24 October

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

Chances at both ends here in the opening five minutes.

Steven Scott gets on the overlap down the right to meet Shea Gordon’s through ball, and when his cross is cleared back to Gordon, the midfielder’s first-time effort takes a deflection before dropping into PJ Morrison’s grasp.

  8. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 24 October

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

    Paul Leeman
Former Glentoran captain on BBC Sport NI

It's a good start from Coleraine. Joel Cooper is dropping into pockets of space and Crusaders don't know who is picking him up.

  9. CLOSE!published at 15:03 BST 24 October

    Carrick Rangers 0-0 Limavady United

    Carrick should be in front.

A mix up in the Limavady defence sends Paul Heatley through on goal and it looks like he will open the scoring, but he fires high and wide of the left upright. Big let-off for the Roesiders.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:02 BST 24 October

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

Huge chance for Cliftonville with seconds on the clock!

A Dungannon clearance drops kindly into Liam McStravick's path, but his first-time volley flashes narrowly wide of the far post.

  11. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 24 October

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

An early chance for the visitors.

Senan Devine does well to win the ball on the halfway line before releasing Joel Cooper.

The Bannsiders' skipper dances past a couple of Crusaders defenders but his shot goes the wrong side of Shea Callister's near post.

  12. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 24 October

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

Duncan Ferguson is an interested spectator at Seaview after his first game as Glentoran manager against Ballymena United was postponed.

His maiden outing as Glens boss will now come on Friday against the Bannsiders so he is out to cast his eye over Ruaidhri Higgins' side.

    Dungannon Swifts 0-0 Cliftonville

We are under way at Stangmore Park, with both sides looking to get their league campaigns back on track.

    Crusaders 0-0 Coleraine

Coleraine captain Joel Cooper gets us under way at an increasingly soggy Seaview.

  18. What awaits Everton hero Ferguson in shock Glens role?published at 14:54 BST 24 October

    Glentoran - P - Ballymena United

With the appointment of Duncan Ferguson at the Oval confirmed on Monday, the club's five-week search for a new manager illustrates again that there is the easy way, the hard way, and the Glentoran way.

When the east Belfast outfit parted company with Declan Devine on 14 September, the simple solution to the early-season vacancy appeared to be a reunion with former assistant Tiernan Lynch.

A two-time winner of the Irish Premiership with Larne, Lynch was freshly back on the market after leaving Derry City in August and immediately installed as favourite for the post.

Instead, the Glens made the trickier prospect of prying Jim Magilton out of his contract at Cliftonville their priority.

When the former Northern Ireland and Ipswich Town midfielder made it clear he intended to stay at Solitude, nobody would have predicted what came next.

A pivot towards Everton legend Ferguson, who also had spells with Rangers and Newcastle United, was not, as they say, on anyone's bingo card.

The appeal of bringing Ferguson's star power to the Irish Premiership is obvious, akin to the boost provided to the League of Ireland by former Chelsea winger Damian Duff's successful, if short, stint with Shelbourne in recent years.

A cult figure across two playing spells at Goodison Park thanks to both his goalscoring exploits and aggressive style - no player has ever received more than his eight Premier League red cards - the 54-year-old Scot instantly becomes the most recognisable face in the league.

  19. I'll give Glens everything, vows new boss Fergusonpublished at 14:52 BST 24 October

    Glentoran - P - Ballymena United

Duncan Ferguson is plotting a return to the glory days at the Oval after his appointment as the new Glentoran manager.

The 54-year-old former Everton star was confirmed as the Irish League club's new boss on a "multi-year contract" on Monday.

Glentoran have not won a league title since 2009 and sit 12 points behind leaders Linfield in the Irish Premiership.

"I'll give the club everything and I expect the players to give everything as well," Ferguson said during a news conference on Monday.

"Hopefully we can compete with the teams at the top of the league and get a bit closer to them. At the minute we're bit adrift of the top two or three.

"I'll bring a football team that will really run, run and run. I'll push them as hard as I can and set them up tactically well.

"Defensively we have been very good but we've lacked in creating chances so hopefully we can play attacking football."

  20. Team newspublished at 14:50 BST 24 October

Carrick Rangers v Limavady United (15:00 BST)

Five points and five positions separate today's opponents. Fifth-placed Carrick will start the day as favourites, having impressed this season and following on from a gutsy 2-2 draw with Linfield last week it is no surprise that manager Stephen Baxter makes just the one chance to the starting line-up.

Seanan Clucas is introduced into the midfield in place of Matthew Snoddy.

Interestingly, defender Kym Nelson is named in the side, with the club appealing his 10-game ban for abusing a match official.

Limavady United were unfortunate to lose 1-0 at Glentoran last time out but manager Paul Owens resists ringing in the changes, instead making just the two for today's game at Taylors Avenue.

Stephen O'Donnell returns from suspension and John Butcher is also back in.

Carrick Rangers: Gartside, Nelson, Forsythe, Callacher, Gibson, Lecky, Steele, Buchanan-Rolleston, Crowe (c), Heatley, Clucas.

Subs: Agnew, O'Connor, McCullough, Moore, Cherry, Hawthorne, Carlisle.

Limavady United: Gallagher, O'Donnell, P Lowry, S Lowry (c), T Boorman, Farren, Butcher, R Boorman, Lafferty, Wilson, McGonigle.

Subs: Doherty, Jarvis, Duffy, Tosh, Gaston, Boyd, Fleming.
