Paris Maghoma hugs Andre Brooks in celebration after he scored Norwich City's third goal against Bristol City at Ashton Gate
Paris Maghoma starred as Norwich City made it four wins in a row by condemning Bristol City to their sixth Championship home defeat and piling the pressure on manager Michael Skubala.
The angry home fans booed at Ashton Gate and the Robins' fourth consecutive home loss was difficult viewing for Skubala heading into the international break.
Maghoma was unplayable for Norwich as he scored for the fourth successive match before setting up Andre Brooks for the Canaries' third.
Harry Darling and substitute Jovon Makama were also on target before Mathias Kvistgaarden completed the rout from the penalty spot.
Maghoma continued his hot streak when he opened the scoring after 22 minutes.
Sam Field won the ball in the final third and the Robins stood off, allowing Maghoma to run into the box and score right-footed into the far bottom corner.
City should have levelled when top scorer Scott Twine shot straight at Norwich goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw from three yards out from Lisav Eissat's flick-on and on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Rio Cardines then shot into the side netting from a narrow angle on the right.
It got worse for the Robins as they tried and failed to clear a corner three times before Darling scored with a looping header on 53 minutes.
Three minutes later it was 3-0 when Maghoma's cross was deflected to Brooks, who shot home to provoke the booing from the home supporters.
Norwich added their fourth in the 70th minute when Anthony Musaba crossed the ball back across goal for Makama to fire home with his first touch after coming on.
And Kvistgaarden made it 5-0 on 80 minutes when Eissat needlessly dragged him down in the box and the Danish striker got up to slot home the penalty.
Norwich have won two consecutive away games by four or more goals for the first time.
By contrast, the Robins have scored just four league home goals this season and they were denied the smallest consolation of a fifth in stoppage time when Darling raced back to clear Dom Ballard's effort off the line.
'That performance was just unacceptable' - reaction
Bristol City manager Michael Skubala told BBC Radio Bristol:
"For me, that's probably the most difficult afternoon I've ever had in my career. I've never had a second half like that, to be honest.
"It doesn't really matter what I say sometimes in these situations. Apologies to the fans, apologies to the supporters. You know, it's not good enough. The performance level in the second half is not good enough.
"It was a strange game first half because we had moments and then they scored from what looked like it was their first shot on goal.
"In the second half, we tried to make some attacking changes, and we came out and I thought in the first five minutes, we looked like we were getting at them. Then we had the second goal and after that, it was just unacceptable."
Skubala: "I'm confident we can turn it around"
Norwich City manager Philippe Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"I think until now, yes, that was the most complete performance of the season. Also comparing the opponents and they are a really hard team to break open.
"We did well in the first half and although we didn't create super, big chances, we scored an important goal and we tired them.
"That was important because we could create more space in the second half. They got more tired and less compact because we were moving the ball well. And because of that, we had several good transition moments with good goals."
Clement: 'I want a team where everyone can score'
