We'll leave it there after Stephen Kingsley's late goal earns Hearts a point at Kilmarnock.

We'll be back tomorrow as Celtic host Rangers, but until then, goodbye.

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken is asked by Premier Sports what explanation he has received from the referee on Laurent Mendy's disallowed goal.

"None," he said.

"I cannot blame the referee because it's a VAR decision. They were told that the goalscorer made a handball but the VAR have to see the defender puts it in the net. For me it's a big decision to make when it's so clear. It affects the game.

"We were not efficient enough in the box. We made a big mistake [for the goal]. In the second half we tried to change things and i thought we were good. We created a lot of chances but we had to score more today. One issue for today was efficiency.

"It's not about defensive performance it was more like the offensive performance of the defence. We needed someone with more guts and initiative on the ball. We had to change things otherwise it was difficult to break that block. We created more chances in the second half."

On whether he's disappointed not to win the game given the late chances.

"Yeah for sure," Vrancken added.

"When you lose, like at Falkirk on Tuesday, you can accept those things because you were so bad, the opponent was better, these things happen in sport.

"But today as well as the first game at Aberdeen, you have to be more efficient because I think we had a lot of chances to win it."

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann tells Premier Sports: "I think the boys put so much into the game and you get to 80-odd minutes and think you can see it out.

"We probably should have dealt with it better for the equaliser but I said to them I can't be too disappointed.

"I'm steadfast in my belief this team will get better and better and the season goes on.

"I thought in the first half we were really hard to break down. Hearts have been on a good run up until midweek. We knew they'd ask us a lot of questions and so the togetherness at that point is really important."

Two of Kilmarnock's key performers have been chatting to Premier Sports.

Jamie Brandon: "It's a bit painful, to lose that late goal is disappointing.

"We took a lot of stick early in the season for the amount of goals we were conceding, but we've shown in the past two games how solid we can be."

Calum Ferrie: "It's important we kick on. It's a tight league."

I think Neil McCann will be proud of his players, they've come under scrutiny.

That's only two goals they have conceded in their last four games.

Unfortunately for them, they couldn't hold Hearts off long enough.

That point does take Wouter Vrancken's side above Rangers into second, although that could change when Rangers visit Celtic Park tomorrow.

Hearts started brightly enough, I thought for large parts of the first half they looked quite disjointed. I wouldn't have said Kilmarnock bullied Hearts but I think they dealt with the physical side of the game much better.

In the dying embers of the game Hearts came strong.

On the balance of play, it would have been harsh on Kilmarnock to lose it so 1-1 probably covers it.

Hearts haven't won a league game outside of Edinburgh since January.

Their next two away matches in the Scottish Premiership are Celtic and Motherwell after the international break.

Here's that header that JJ Williams managed to totally miss in the closing stages.

How the American would love that chance back.

Honours even at Rugby Park, but Hearts will look back on that as two points dropped.

Another chance for JJ Williams.

Sabah Kerjota cuts inside onto his left foot and flashes a shot towards the far corner. Any touch from Williams would surely be a goal, but he almost ducks out of the way of it.

If you're being kind you could maybe suggest the wind plays its part but he's got to score.

My word.

Hearts striker JJ Williams is totally unmarked again and somehow misses the ball.

A fresh-air header with no-one near him.

It's difficult to call.

I think there is another goal in this but I'm not sure who for because I think Kilmarnock will try and get a winner as well.

Three minutes added on at Rugby Park.

Will we get late drama?

Christian Borchgrevink flies into a ridiculous tackle on Michael Schjonning-Larsen and is booked.

Sabri Guendouz breaks for Hearts after Beau Reus unconvincingly punches away a Killie free kick.

James Wilson is away through the middle, but Guendouz tries to go alone and Jamie Brandon snuffs it out.

It's a really good ball into the box, Kilmarnock don't deal with it.

My goodness what a finish from Stephen Kingsley. I know it looks fairly straightforward but he catches it so well.

It makes the closing moments of this match very interesting.
