The fastest stopwatch is parked next to Charles Leclerc, but the Ferrari driver has Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in front of him before he can even think about catching - and passing - race leader Kimi Antonelli. His engineer thinks he has the pace to challenge, and now he creeps closer to the Red Bull and McLaren.

Max Verstappen does not look happy. It looks to me he's never been happy with the car in this race. It looks like he's struggling, it looks like it's a handful.

George Russell cannot afford any slip ups now. If he loses places from his P8 position, then championship leader Kimi Antonelli will secure the title tonight in Austin, as Lewis Hamilton is outside the top four in fifth spot.

The trio of cars fighting for the podium places is giving Kimi Antonelli a chance to breathe out in front. The Mercedes driver is 14 seconds clear of Lando Norris in second, but the McLaren driver has Max Verstappen right on his rear wing.

Engineer: "Ok Lando, so the situation is we're currently P2. Our better chance is just to make the one-stop work. Best way to defend against Max is the yellow [tyre]."

Lewis Hamilton makes another stop in this race and takes on the hard compound. The seven-time world champion heads out and is now behind the Red Bull of Isack Hadjar in sixth place.

Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc in second will be next to make a tyre change.

You don't want to win a championship by getting just enough points. Antonelli knew he had to win this race and he's leading it and doing everything he possibly can and to make sure he's heading in the right direction. It's an impressive performance, not just by Mercedes but Kiimi Antonelli as well who's just been brilliant. His season has been incredible. He's doing everything he can, there's nothing he can do about the guys behind him.
