Summary

How are you watching the final?

  1. 'Music has such an interesting role': We hear from the composer behind the Traitors' musicpublished at 19:55 GMT 30 October

Composer Simon Heeger says he "flipped out" when he learned the music he had made was used in the Traitors.

Heeger, from Germany, said he doesn't have the Traitors there and had to learn from friends about the show and the "huge impact" it has.

He explains that he creates music, then music supervisors can select what to use, which is what happened to him with this series - which "is really, really cool".

"Music has such an interesting role when it comes to music and picture", he explains, adding it helps change the atmosphere and meaning."

"I'm really happy to participate in that," he adds.

I’ll be watching with my dogs Coco and Isla tonight.

Here is Coco with Jade watching episode seven last week.

Coco would definitely be a traitor, but Isla the golden retriever is 100% faithful and would be there until the end, not even asking why she was still there.

Looking ahead to the show, I'm very excited to see whether Michael makes it to breakfast and if Maya glides her way out of trouble.

We've been hearing from fans of the show, who are sharing where they're watching tonight's final.

"I’ll be watching the final at home with my dog Tilly, savouring every last morsel of discovery," says Stephanie Campbell in Surrey.

Kanam Nwidobie in Manchester writes: "At home with my two children, will be video calling my parents when it starts."

"On my sofa with my partner with snacks of course! Both looking forward to it!" says Charlotte, from London.

Amy Allan-Bateman, in Scotland, says: "We will be cozying up on the sofa with all of our snacks! We really want the traitors to win as they have played incredibly! Team traitors."

"We’d love Kenny to win, because we have been his fans all along!" says Alina, in London.

Less than half an hour to go!

I wasn't expecting to feel this tense, but last night's episode left everything to play for.

Surely it comes down to Maya vs Michael?

At long last, the two big dogs are going head to head. I am here for it.

After last night’s explosive episode there could only be one snack on the menu this evening.

  6. Unpredictability and openness - how former contestants describe this seriespublished at 19:25 GMT 30 October

We're listening to series two faithful Alex Dragonetti and series one faithful Fay Greaves - you can watch live at the top of this page as they count down to the final.

Alex says one word to sum up this series is "openness" - which he says "probably can't continue every series" as the game would fall apart, but it's made great television.

Alex adds that it's the "jeopardy" that makes the show so great.

For Fay, it's the "unpredictability" of this series that sticks out to her.

  7. So close... I really wanted to make it to the finalpublished at 19:22 GMT 30 October

A green banner showing Jade's portrait, captioned: Jade - Series 4 faithful

Ahh the final round table... I know it well. Sadly this is where I made my exit in season four.

For me, after having so much heat I worked so hard and wanted to make it into the final.

Realistically it was never going to happen. I was hoping for a dream that deep down I wanted but was never going to come true.

Good luck to all that have made it this far!

There have been loads of scenes that have made us laugh over the past month.

One of the highlights has to be seeing "hard man" Ross Kemp reduced to a paranoid mess when Bella Ramsey put a captain's hat on his head, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock then touched his arm.

He was convinced he'd been murdered in plain sight - which made it especially tragic when that exact fate befell him, several episodes later.

Another viral moment was when Leigh-Anne offered to make Miranda Hart's "dreams come true" by teaching her a Little Mix dance move.

"Introducing Little Mix and... Big Mix!" Miranda said as the pair wiggled and thrusted gleefully on the floor.

Let's not forget Richard E Grant declaring himself a Traitor in the very first episode (I'm still not over that...), and later in the series, the three remaining traitors being selected by the group as the most trustworthy, worthy of keeping their scarecrow heads intact.

    You couldn't make it up.

Harriet was banished in series four after an explosive confrontation at the round table

Last night, we had Fiona and Reece joining us.

Tonight, our VIPs are Harriet and Jade, both from series four.

In case you forgot, Harriet is a novelist and former criminal barrister, while Jade, who reached the final, was a PhD student at the University of Warwick.

Having experienced life in the castle, they will be here to tell us about tonight’s final.

So, who do they think will be taking the crown of king or queen of the castle tonight?

"The one solid prediction I can make is to expect the unexpected but if I have to make a call, it’s that Kenny could win it on his own," Harriet told us earlier.

"Despite his slip ups, there’s a lot more heat on others but the faithfuls could still pull it out the bag!"

Jade doesn't think it looks good for Maya.

"I think that she is going to go out," she says.

"I do think Kenny is in a really strong position, however people are now questioning the quieter individuals! I’d say there’s a good 40% chance the faithful could win."

    Murder, deception and champagne... obviously

Things started where they left off the previous episode - at the roundtable with Kenny deciding whether to banish Joanne or Sharon.

Sharon was saved but - as ever with this show - it didn't buy her much time. She was promptly murdered overnight.

Cue one of the most stressful breakfasts in the show's history, with Michael vowing to "push and push and push", turning the day into a "living hell" for the traitors.

The tension was getting a bit much.

So, naturally, it was followed by a brief interlude where the players ran around the castle grounds carrying the pickled heads of their fallen teammates, adding more money to the prize pot in the process.

Then, there was some more theorising among the faithful - who finally seemed to be onto something, directing their focus towards the quiet ones.

At the roundtable, Michael and James B honed in on the murder in plain sight, directing questions at James A who was present in the room when Ross was killed.

Refusing to defend himself, the reluctant traitor gave in to his faithful nature and fessed up. A first in the show's history - and one that's left the traitors reeling.

The episode concluded with a firepit champagne toast as Claudia announced there would be one more murder.

    Let's see who it is.

We've got more details on the episode here.

One of these players will not be at the breakfast table this morning

    Welcome back.

Halloween is not until tomorrow, but if there's any other night worth spending in a castle, it's this one.

Celebrity Traitors is back for a jaw-clenching finale after yesterday's bombshell confession.

James Acaster - the epitome of reluctant traitor - decided the lying game was not for him.

He sensationally fessed up to being a traitor the moment he was challenged at the roundtable by Michael Sheen. A pretty frightening proposition, to be fair...

Sheen had been on a mission all episode to tighten the screw on the traitors, having declared himself the "Vengeful Daddy" at the breakfast table.

It leaves traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny in a vulnerable position heading into the final, with Sheen's sights firmly set on Jama.

But as is customary in the final, the last person banished at the roundtable tonight will not reveal their true identity, leaving the players guessing as they enter the show's endgame.

Seven players remain - two traitors and five faithful.

And one final murder will have been carried out overnight, leaving six players to fight it out.

It's all to play for, with the prize fund standing at £64,500 to be given to the charity of the winner’s choice.

    Let the treachery continue!

It's fair to say we're unlikely to ever see a semi-final like it.

It started with a knife-edge banishment, swept through a challenge featuring pickled celebrities' heads, and finished with an unbelievable round table confession.

And with two traitors seeking to avoid the lens of the remaining five faithful, the decision of who they'll murder overnight is likely to be series-defining.

There's 24 hours for us to mull it all over, before the series final arrives at 20:00 on Friday night.

That brings our live coverage here to a close, but you can rest assured we'll be back with you tomorrow to soak up all the drama. See you then, and sweet dreams Michael Sheen.

It's finely balanced going into the finale. Genuinely can't call it.

I fear for our Michael tonight...but if he makes it through the turret, I think he'll win it with Blunty.

I think James Blunt is the safest murder.

The traitors cannot touch Michael and he knows it.

This is lining up to be a Kenny solo win out of nowhere!

  17. The Traitors Uncloaked unpacks a dramatic semi-final - watch livepublished at 21:11 GMT 29 October

    Adam Goldsmith
    Live reporter, frightened faithful

At the end, Michael and Maya - the first of the two celebrities to enter the church at the start of the series - are left together under the stars.

Michael is pretty certain now that Maya's a traitor, but will he make it through the night to share his instinct over croissants and coffee at breakfast?

We'll have to tune in to Friday's final to find out.

In the meantime, Ed Gamble is here with today's episode of Uncloaked to unpack all the madness of the last hour. You can follow along by tapping watch live at the top of the page.

  18. There'll be one more murder tonight - but who will the traitors choose?published at 21:06 GMT 29 October

    Ah, that looks nice.

There's time before bed for a firepit nightcap. Send one our way Claudia.

They all stand as Claudia joins with a glass of fizz, featuring a bobbing raspberry.

It's all nice and harmonious, but sadly, there'll be one final murder tonight she tells the group.

    Sweet dreams.

A green banner showing Reece's portrait, captioned: Reece - Series 4 faithful

    Warning: This post contains spoilers

    The most decorum ever seen.

    James has been banished.

I think it’s rich of the faithful to celebrate that. They are woeful at this game, three traitors caught and two have been admissions.

    That’s a series-defining moment there.

Maya looks RAGING by the way.

  20. It's heating up for Maya after that bombshellpublished at 21:03 GMT 29 October

Is the heat really gone from Maya?

James and Romesh have a short conference in the hallway after the round table, and they're still pointing the finger at the Love Island star.

Meanwhile, Michael's busy once again expecting to be murdered. Give yourself a break, Mike.
