Some Italians have very strong opinions about this topping
Mr Tamburella has gone to Australia's Fair Work Commission and has claimed he's been unfairly dismissed, which means sacked unfairly.
The chef has stuck to his beliefs, and hasn't used any fruit on pizzas he's made for the last four years.
He had told his boss in the past to "check how important it is for Italians not to put pineapple on a pizza".
But the restaurant's managing director has said there's more to the story, with the restaurant raising concerns about his language and "frustration in the workplace."
The BBC has approached Mr Tamburella for comment.
