Muhammad Abbas appeals enthusiastically for an lbw against Ben Duckett. The umpire says no. Height maybe?

The players are back out in the middle.

Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay at the top of the order for England, with Muhammad Abbas with the ball in hand for Pakistan.

Imam-ul-Haq (42 off 74) and Abdullah Shafique (61 off 104) rebuilt Pakistan's innings either side of the rain delay/lunch, putting on 91 (140) for the third wicket.

Josh Tongue broke the partnership, having Imam-ul-Haq caught by Harry Brook in the slips and from there Pakistan faltered.

Saud Shakeel took too long to review his lbw dismissal by Ollie Robinson (he would have been saved), with Shafique falling two overs later to leave Pakistan 118-5.

The final five wickets fell for 21 runs. Pakistan all out for 171, Robinson taking 5-51 and Tongue 5-46.

Let's have a quick recap, shall we?

England made the perfect start after winning the toss and electing to bowl, with Ollie Robinson striking with the opening delivery to account for Azan Awais and then removing Shan Masood to reduce Pakistan to 6-2.

This was the 58th instance of two bowlers taking five wickets in a Test match innings - the first time since 2021 and the first time in 20 years for England.

Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue, innings completed.

They've both been outstanding, bowling that fuller length.

Tremendous bowling spell from both ends. At one stage Pakistan looked good to get 240 or 250. After the break, they had no options and no real defence against this quality England bowling. Bowled superbly.

Abbas b Tongue 2 (Pak 171 all out)

    Well Ben, we'll find out!

Josh Tongue cleans up Muhammad Abbas to finish with 5-46 from his 9.1 overs. Ollie Robinson took 5-51. They leave the field holding hands.

Pakistan are all out for 171. Ended with a bit of a whimper.

What happens with the ball if Robinson and Tongue both get five-fers? Do they get ground maintenance to saw it in half?!

  11. wicket

    Shahzad c Atkinson b Robinson 14 (Pak 171-9)

No mistake this time from Gus Atkinson, back-pedalling to pouch Khurram Shahzad's toe-end at chest height.

Ollie Robinson has five - his second Test five-for of the summer.

Gus Atkinson is a pretty tall guy, jumped up into the air. Maybe he got his timing off when he leaped and tried to get the ball under control. That should've been taken actually.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped - Shahzad on 12published at 47.4 overs

Mis-judged by Gus Atkinson. Did he jump too early or too late? Either way, he made a hash of it. Fortunately, bowler Ollie Robinson sees the funny side.

  14. Pak 169-8published at 47.3 overs

Khurram Shahzad swings wildly and misses one from Ollie Robinson, spinning in his follow-through and attracting whistles from the Headingley crowd.

Muhammad Abbas comes down for a word and Shahzad responds with a more conventional stroke, dispatching the next ball through mid-wicket for four.

Wow that is so unlucky. I think two umpire's calls should be classed as not out.

I don't know how Muhammad Abbas has survived that.

  17. Pak 164-8published at 47 overs

Nearly two in two once again for Josh Tongue! Full and angled down the leg side.

Muhammad Abbas is comfortably beaten, as is wicketkeeper Jamie Smith as the ball whistles past the stumps and away for four byes.

That could've gone either way for Muhammad Rizwan.

    It's a costly blow but he's gone.

    Josh Tongue with another.

It's always a difficult one with Muhammad Rizwan because he's so short.

  20. wicket

    Rizwan lbw b Tongue 12 (Pak 159-8)

Gone! Two ambers, just clipping the top of off. Umpire's call.

Muhammad Rizwan puts his hand to his head in disbelief.
