  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 51 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Sheffield Wednesday have come out with a bit more energy and try to work around the right flank.

Yan Valery falls in the box, hands raised for a penalty but it's Oldham who are given a free-kick. The Latics defender just stopped himself before charging in for a challenge.

  2. SECOND HALFpublished at 18:17 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Back we go to Boundary Park with it all to play for.

Will we see a winner in the next 45 minutes? Time to find out...

Wimborne Town of the Southern League Premier South pulled off a mighty shock earlier, beating League Two Crawley Town, although the 2-0 scoreline and manner of the performance did not look like non-league vs Football League.

Here is goalscorer Yang Seung-woo celebrating with the player who wears his No14 shirt for Wimborne Under-14s. Lovely stuff.

Do you think the foul on Mike Fondop was a red card? It's certainly one to split opinions.

Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  5. 'It's positive it's still 0-0'published at 18:12 GMT

    HT: Oldham 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Dom Howson
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Sheffield

The biggest positive that I can cling to is that it's 0-0.

It's not as if Oldham have peppered the goal and created chance after chance, but it just feels like there's more cohesion about what they do and that's understandable when Dave Challinor's been in the job for less than a week.

So, we shouldn't be expecting Wednesday to be anywhere near the finished article, and they're not, but I still look at that XI and I think they're capable of much more of what they showed in that first half.

  6. Highlights from Flamingo Parkpublished at 18:10 GMT

FT: Cray Wanderers 2-3 Stockport (AET)

10-man Stockport come from two behind to survive huge scare at Cray

It is fair to say, *quite* a bit happened in a corner of south east London earlier this afternoon as League One promotion challengers Stockport had to overcome a two-goal deficit to advance into the second round.

Their task was made considerably harder by the fact they lost goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond to a red card after 31 minutes.

  7. 'Micky Mellon will be very happy'published at 18:07 GMT

    HT: Oldham 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Keith Hill
Former Bolton boss on BBC Radio Manchester

There's been a lot of misplaced passes especially towards half-time. It looks like both teams have got a little bit scrappy. There's a slow tempo to the game.

I think it's been relatively comfortable for Oldham. I'd be disappointed if I was Dave Challinor, whereas Micky Mellon will be very happy.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:02 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    All even at the break.

Owls with all the possession but the Lactics have the better chances, one of which has caused the biggest talking point of the match so far.

Wednesday stopper Ashley Maynard-Brewer rushed out and tripped Mike Fondop up just as the Oldham forward was driving at goal.

Definitely seemed like a foul but the referee awarded nothing. Though it did cause some problems for Maynard-Brewer, who needed to be withdrawn after 17 minutes.

  9. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Just one minute added.

You'd think Owls boss Dave Challinor will be happier to see it over with. Oldham looking a bit more threatening.

  10. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Jordi Liongola tries to pounce on the ball in the box after Oldham defender Donervon Daniels cuts out an attack.

The Latics man times it well though, getting the ball just before Liongola does. Any later and it's a sure fire penalty.

  11. 'There's a lack of confidence and belief about Wednesday'published at 18:00 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Dom Howson
    Co-commentator on BBC Radio Sheffield

I've watched Dave Challinor a lot in his technical area and he's very emotional, passionate and constantly barking out orders.

There's a lack of confidence and belief about Wednesday right now. A goal would change the whole dynamic and lift everything, but they haven't got themselves in to good positions often enough and asserted their dominance.

This team should be more than capable of getting the job done but we haven't seen enough of Barry Bannan dictating play in midfield. We haven't seen enough of Jamal Lowe stretching the Oldham defence and bringing others in to play.

    It just keeps breaking down.

  12. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Liam Palmer is under no pressure whatsoever but he still overhits a pass to his Owls team-mate to put it out for an Oldham throw-in.

Not sure what that was. Dreadful.

  13. 'I'd like to see Oldham offer a different problem'published at 17:55 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Keith Hill
Former Bolton boss on BBC Radio Manchester

Oldham are very good down the left-hand side of the pitch but I'd like to see, when they do get into those crossing positions, a few lower passes to offer a little bit of a different problem for Sheffield Wednesday's three central defenders because they've dealt with everything in the air.

  14. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

The ball is moving fluidly between the Oldham players but they struggle to carve out a chance.

Nice to see a clean passage of play, even if it is all for nought. Was looking very scrappy at one point.

  15. 'Oldham look more threatening'published at 17:50 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Adam Oxley
    BBC Radio Sheffield commentator

When Oldham get in and around the Wednesday penalty area they look more threatening.

  16. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

The ball bounces around the Owls box until it finds Noah Chilvers.

He rushes his volley though and can't keep it down.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 29 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Yan Valery lifts his foot to try and stop Oldham stopper Matthew Hudson from delivering out from his box and earns a caution.

The hosts might be wishing they got to carry on though before the whistle was blown.

  18. Postpublished at 17:44 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Challinor already has a page full of notes he's jotted down during this match.

The Owls are hogging all the possession but aren't doing much damage with it.

  19. 'All the pressure coming from Oldham'published at 17:43 GMT

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Keith Hill
Former Bolton boss on BBC Radio Manchester

Scott-Morriss with a beautiful connection and the keeper saved really well.

Sheffield Wednesday are not offering an awful lot with respect to pressure. All the pressure is coming from Oldham who are playing some really good front foot football.

  20. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Oldham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Gus Scott-Morriss does good work to chest down the ball and get off a shot but Owls keeper Connal Trueman is in the way.

First strike on target for the hosts.
