Have your say on England men this summer

Here's how Dan Lawrence brought up his half-century.

It may well be he's not out overnight.

The umpires are reportedly moving around the ground.

My view of the pitch has been cut off and I'm watching a video feed of the TV highlights commentary booth.

Maybe I read something into how many commentators are sat down (one, presently).

Good to see Dan Lawrence getting another 50 - I reckon it's worth double on this pitch.

The rain does seem to be coming down harder now, but there's a strong wind rippling the flags at Lord's so it's possible this squall may blow over swiftly.

It is light rain, but it has blown in very quickly.

The hover cover is on swiftly as the players dart off.

England now lead by 357 runs, with Dan Lawrence on 50 and Ollie Robinson on two.

There's the half-century for Dan Lawrence!

Having been brought back on strike by new batter Ollie Robinson, the England number six immediately pulls a single to deep square off Mohammad Ali, bringing up his landmark from 64 balls.

36 of those runs have come from boundaries, with six fours and two sixes.

It's also fifties in consecutive Tests for Lawrence after he made 51 in England's one outing at Headingley.

Dan Lawrence caught it perfectly. That was sort of a slog sweep.

I am not sure Pakistan will fancy coming out and having a bat in this.

    Big six!

Dan Lawrence lumps Ali Usman's last delivery high over mid-wicket into the stands, where it's put down by a spectator.

    He moves to 49.

  10. Eng 168-7published at 45.3 overs

Pakistan bring spinner Ali Usman on for only his second over.

Dan Lawrence advances down the track and flicks expansively, picking up four in front through mid-wicket, then paddle sweeps the following ball for two.

    Good bit of bowling.

Gus Atkinson was looking to get on with it a bit and tried to throw an expansive flick through mid-wicket.

I think there will be some positive shots here. 342 is a huge lead, so sling the willow a little bit.

A wicket with the third ball after tea!

Mohammad Ali beats the bat of Gus Atkinson as the England number eight has a swing, then sends a bouncer whistling through.

The final delivery of his over ducks in and thwacks Atkinson on the pad and up goes the umpire's finger.

Atkinson decides not to review and heads for the pavilion.

Right, we're ready to go again.

Dan Lawrence and Gus Atkinson and walking out through the Long Room on their way to the middle.

We've got three balls left in Mohammad Ali's over.

Yes folks, like a vaudeville clown at a rain-soaked open-air theatre, I have returned.

Let's start with plastic sheeting watch - the hover cover is on, but with out its roll-out sections, so it's just the match wicket under wraps.

They have also just started walking off the tarps covering the run-ups, so that's promising.

The weather is looking properly grim. The hover cover is on, and the sheet covers are being firmly pegged down.

I promised you he'd be on standby for the next rain delay, so here's Mike Peter for your evening entertainment.

    What a surprise.

It looks very bleak, not just with the rain but it's also very dark. The umpires have sensibly called for an early tea, but I'll be surprised if they come straight back out afterwards.

  19. Eng 158-6published at 44 overs

Here's the spinner, Ali Usman, bowling for the first time today.

Atkinson and Lawrence tick over singles, and on this pitch Lawrence's contribution of 37 is becoming a very impressive one.
