Haris Rauf celebrates vociferously. And it's a big one. The short ball has been a ploy for the seamers. It balloons out to the fine leg boundary and the fielder makes no mistake.

Pakistan desperately needed that because England were cantering to the target.

    Bounced out!

It's short from Haris Rauf and Ben Duckett elects to take on the hook shot.

However, it does not have the distance to go with the elevation and Fakhar Zaman manages to get round behind square in the deep to claim the catch.

The crowd are sparked into life.

Ben Duckett has a slightly terse exchange with the standing umpire. I think he wanted a drink brought out to the middle, possibly.

Either way something has got his goat.

The England opener picks up a single off Saim Ayub then continues the discussion at the non-striker's end.

    Target 303

The cameras pan to the England dressing room and the players are lounging around looking very at ease with what the scoreboard says.

Haris Rauf continues to bustle in but the pitch looks as flat as a pancake now. Four runs off the over.

This will be the second-biggest ODI chase at this ground if England can pull it off.

I'd say in the first five overs Pakistan had one over England with how the ball was moving but when the ball stopped doing as much England really capitalised on that.

  6. Eng 80-0published at 12 overs

Easy pickings for Ben Duckett who is now unbeaten on 40 off 41 deliveries.

He deftly works the first ball of Faheem Ashraf's second over off his legs for four through fine leg, then the left-handed opener crisply times another in a similar region.

Haris Rauf into the attack. Five runs and a wide keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Ben Duckett can afford to smile to himself after playing the penultimate delivery with soft hands and then having a brief moment of panic when the ball pops up threatens to spin back on to his stumps. He gets away with it, though.

  8. Eng 65-0published at 10 overs

Pakistan skipper Shaheen Afridi turns to another experienced seamer in all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.

The 32-year-old bowls with decent control with his first four deliveries, cramping Ben Duckett for room with a tight line.

Ben Duckett drills one slightly overpitched but Saim Ayub manages to pull of a superb diving stop at point.

Final ball of the over is thrashed through the gap, though, for four.

Ben Duckett continues this show of intent with a stylish clip through mid-wicket for four, followed by a waspish drive all along the carpet for another.

England are building some momentum towards the end of the powerplay.

Tom Banton has picked up a length ball. Naseem Shah was just outplayed there.

Absolutely nothing top-edgey about this maximum...

Beautifully timed by Tom Banton as he whips a slightly slower delivery from Naseem Shah through mid-wicket for six.

Straight out the middle of the bat.

Naseem Shah bounces Tom Banton but having clothed one a little earlier there's no mistake this time.

Banton plays it right on his nose, and helps the ball on its away for six between fine leg and deep square.

It was a little top-edgey, but he will not care a jot.

That's a beautiful shot from Tom Banton. That's worth the flight out here alone.

    Great shot.

Tom Banton stands tall and clips Shaheen Afridi for four through mid-wicket.

    Classical batsmanship.

A couple of balls later Banton drives on the up, though, and is fortunate the ball skims off his blade and down to third.

Ben Duckett leaves not one, but two, deliveries at the end of the over.

    Confident strokeplay from Ben Duckett.

The lefty receive something in his zone outside off from Naseem Shah and punishes with a minimal-fuss punch through the covers for four.

    Nicely timed.

England pick up another boundary at the end of the over courtesy of a fumble from Haris Rauf on the boundary after a leg glance down to fine leg from Duckett.

The initial burst from the opening bowlers is significant. There is Haris Rauf to come too.

When you get to the end of this spell from the opening batters there's light at the end of the tunnel.

  17. Eng 21-0published at 5 overs

Shaheen Afridi bangs one in short to Tom Banton and the England opener takes on the hook, but ends up clothing it so has to settle for a couple.

The Pakistan is too straight and too full with the final delivery of the over and Banton tickles it off his tootsies for four.

  18. How's stat?!published at 13:39 BST

Pakistan's opening bowlers are finding 2.1° of movement through the air from their opening few overs - three times as much as England’s bowlers had found by the same stage (0.7°).

The call to prayer from a loud speaker at a local mosque near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium cuts through the chatter of the crowd.

Ben Duckett picks up four with a chop off Naseem Shah. The England opener was not quite in control, looking to play a kind of cross-batted slap but he inside edges.

Duckett gets away with one off the fourth ball of the over with a wristy flick which pops up towards mid-on but drops short.

Shaheen Afridi, beard neatly trimmed and barely a hair of his coiffured barnet out of place, is shaping the ball quite nicely to Tom Banton.

The England opener rather watchful as he sees off the last three deliveries of the over in a risk-averse fashion.
