  1. 50 runs

50 up for Yorkshirepublished at 12:17 BST 27 August

    Yorks 50-2 v Leics

Josh Hull overpitches and James Wharton drives it straight down the ground for his third boundary.

Wharton has played a good hand here after the early chaos, and moves into the 30s.

It's been more of a grind for Sam Whiteman, but he strokes a straight ball from Hull to midwicket to bring up the Yorkshire 50 in the 18th over.

Decent recovery so far from 6-2.

This is shaping up to be the best first session of the season so far for Lancs

    Chris, Manchester

Nothing like some gallows humour in sport, is there? No play so far at New Road where Lancashire will face Worcestershire, eventually, we hope...

Time for Wharton, Luxton, Revis and Bean to up their game for the Yorkies next season! The bowling attack feels settled, sort their batting and Yorks could challenge for the title, a few batting points wouldn't go amiss either.

    Sam, Leeds

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 BST 27 August

    Albert b ul-Hassan 10 (Glam v Hants 38-2)

Toby Albert must have felt he had his stumps covered there but Zain ul-Hassan, bowling from quite wide on the crease over the wicket, gets one to tail in late and clip off stump.

Albert and Ali Orr had been looking a little more comfortable at the crease so this is a setback. Jake Lehmann comes to the crease and Glam tails are up.

  4. 'Gritty start from Hants'published at 12:13 BST 27 August

    Glamorgan v Hampshire 37-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It’s been a gritty start from Hampshire in nasty batting conditions in Cardiff with the lights on from the start, with Ali Orr and Nick Gubbins making good judgements on what to play.

Gubbins fell to Timm van der Gugten in the third over before an early break for bad light.

Glamorgan brought in Dan Douthwaite for his first red-ball game in two years in place of the injured Andy Gorvin, while Pakistan paceman Mir Hamza replaced Kiwi Ray Toole as the overseas bowler.

Hampshire fielded seamer James Fuller in place of Felix Organ given the damp conditions, while Scott Currie was named to start the game pending Sonny Baker's release from the England squad.

Credit to the groundstaff for getting under way on time after early morning downpours in the Welsh capital.

  5. 'Consistency is the problem for Hull'published at 12:12 BST 27 August

    Yorks 44-2 v Leics

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

Let's not forget this is a test international we're watching but it's Josh Hull's consistency that has been the problem as we've seen this morning.

He will bowl some really nice stuff, he has all the attributes. He's tall, he's pacy, he swings the ball, he's left arm which adds a variety that teams love.

But he'll bowl a full ball outside off stump and he does that too often sadly at the moment. He's struggled with injuries, too.

  6. Postpublished at 12:11 BST 27 August

    Glam v Hants 37-1

There you go. Toby Albert finally gets hold of one with feeling and sends Mir Hamza's final delivery of the over racing to the cover rope.

That will give the visitors a touch more confidence after a tricky start where they were finding it hard to get bat on ball early.

  7. Early lunch taken at Northamptonpublished at 12:11 BST 27 August

    Northants v Kent

No play before lunch at Wantage Road in the BIG Division Two promotion clash.

    Shame.

  8. Postpublished at 12:10 BST 27 August

    Durham v Glos 51-3

No saliva allowed to shine the ball these days, so Durham's Matty Potts has offered up the sweat off his back to Ben Stokes to try and help him get the best out of the ball.

    Grim.

It nearly works though as Stokes finds the edge of Ollie Price's bat two balls later but it drops just fractionally short of David Bedingham at first slip.

    Maiden over.

Potts is replacing Brydon Carse in the attack.

  9. Postpublished at 12:06 BST 27 August

    Yorks 39-2 v Leics

Leicestershire skipper Ian Holland has been economical without creating too many problems and gives himself a breather after his seven-over spell.

Tom Scriven is the man to replace him.

A thick outside edge from James Wharton is hauled in short of the rope at third man, but the effort's in vain as Wharton and Sam Whiteman run four.

Yorkshire up against it in the first innings again. Our highest batter runs wise is Lyth this season with an average of 29. Work to do there over the winter I think.

  11. Postpublished at 12:02 BST 27 August

    Durham v Glos 51-3

Brydon Carse is looking a little ragged in his seventh over and James Bracey picks up a couple of boundaries, the second of which looks like it might have damaged the ball.

Umpire James Tredwell agrees it needs changing so Callum Parkinson emerges with the box of alternatives.

Six of the past seven scoring shots have been boundaries for the visitors.

  12. 'Wharton's concentration as good as anyone in this team'published at 12:00 BST 27 August

    Yorks 32-2 v Leics

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

He's got a couple of big scores to his name, so James Wharton has shown us that his powers of concentration are as good as anybody's in this team.

We know the ability is there.

  13. Postpublished at 11:59 BST 27 August

    Glam v Hants 19-1

Huge shout for a caught behind from Mir Hamza on Ali Orr (10) but the umpire thinks that has missed wood and hit pad on its way through to Chris Cooke.

Hamza ends up continuing his appeal virtually standing next to the batsman as he turns to face the unmoved official.

Replays are inconclusive there. Only a detailed snicko analysis would have cleared that one so we go with the man closest to the action. Not out.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:58 BST 27 August

    Nicholls b Crocombe (Sussex v Somerset 48-3)

And two balls later Henry Crocombe strikes again!

Round the wicket to another left-hander in Henry Nicholls, Crocombe gets a full ball to come back off the seam and zips between bat and pad to take middle and off stump.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:58 BST 27 August

    Thomas c Simpson b Crocombe (Sussex v Somerset 48-2)

Sussex break what was a very productive stand as Henry Crocombe finds some bounce from round the wicket to take a graze of the shoulder of Josh Thomas’s bat.

Nice piece of bowling. Not a lot the batsman could do there really have played the line.

  16. Postpublished at 11:57 BST 27 August

    Durham v Glos 43-3

Lovely shot from Ollie Price who cracks Ben Stokes through the covers for four runs to move past 20.

No-doubter the moment it left the blade.

Glos have recovered well from their nightmare start to the day.

Very much hope Sam Cook will be playing for Essex, presuming he isn't playing for England due to any late injuries, otherwise Carse has shown the way to do it!

    Kevin, Chelmsford

Can't be nice facing Carse at Riverside when one could argue, as he was suspended from England duty for allegations of ill discipline, he should be suspended *with England* not sent back to Durham. It's a challenging question though (but impacts non-England player counties most of all).

    Em, Newcastle

Can = open. Worms = everywhere.

  18. Postpublished at 11:54 BST 27 August

    Glam v Hants 19-1

Timm van der Gugten wraps up his fourth over with a nice delivery that Toby Albert gets his bat inside and deliberately misses.

As expected on an overcast Cardiff morning this is not easy going for the Hants batsmen with a green tinge to the pitch and overheads helping, too.

Now Mir Hamza appears to get one to go both ways there with a very late dip in and then has another decent shout for lbw against Ali Orr (on 10) not given

The pair need to dig in and get the shine off this new ball otherwise it could be messy.

  19. Postpublished at 11:54 BST 27 August

    Yorks 29-2 v Leics

First change of bowling here in Scarborough as the tall figure of Josh Hull replaces Josh Davey after a terrific opening spell.

Sam Whiteman seems a relieved man and plays his first attacking shot of the day as Hull drops short. A super piece of fielding at point from Hamza Shaikh keeps him to one.

Hull's radar is awry early on. James Wharton smashes a wide ball through the covers for four before easing a straight ball through midwicket for back-to-back boundaries.

    Wharton up to 20.

  20. Postpublished at 11:52 BST 27 August

    Durham v Glos 35-3

Ben Stokes lobs the ball to Brydon Carse to take the next over, his sixth.

England's loss is Durham's gain in their Division Two title push, it's fair to say.

Ollie Price has 17* after picking up a boundary off Stokes with Bracey moving to 9* with a crunch into the leg side for a couple to welcome Carse back.
