  1. 200 runs

200 up for Glamorganpublished at 12:46 BST 23 August

    Leics v Glam 200-7 - target 257

Any hopes Leicestershire may have had of rolling Glamorgan over quickly this morning have not materialised.

Mason Crane was top scorer out of both teams in the first innings with 44. He's supporting Chris Cooke now and Glamorgan are progressing slowly but surely.

Leicestershire will have a new ball available in three overs but they appear to be a bowler light with Ben Mike having not taken to the field today.

    Moores obstructing the field 2 (Lancs 82-7 v Northants - Target 446)

You don't see that too often but Joe Moores has been given out for obstructing the field after catching a ball in the crease.

Luke Procter has fired down a delivery which Moores chops down into the turf but the ball bounces, possibly back towards the stumps and Moores instinctively catches it in his left hand.

Realising his mistake he quickly drops it but it is too late. The close fielders appeal and his departure is confirmed.

Not sure whether that would have bounced on to the wickets as it was coming down pretty vertically only just inside the popping crease.

He could, of course, have kicked it away as well. He didn't though and, to general bemusement, he is on his way.

Law 37.1.2 forbids "wilfully strikes the ball with a hand not holding the bat" which pretty much covers it.

  3. Postpublished at 12:39 BST 23 August

    Somerset v Essex 376-7 - lead by 65

A little bit risky from new batter Shane Snater, who flicks Jack Leach away through midwicket for four.

If that one had turned, he could have been in trouble.

  4. Postpublished at 12:37 BST 23 August

    Middx 267-8 v Kent - target 356

Joe Cracknell has a real mow at a ball from Ekansh Singh and skies it over the slips from somewhere near the toe end of his bat for four.

The Middlesex wicketkeeper gets away with a moment of recklessness.

  5. Postpublished at 12:35 BST 23 August

    Leics v Glam 190-7 - target 257

Oh dear. Ajaz Patel bowls one well down the legside and it beats everybody to go for four byes.

Leicestershire are favourites here but they can't afford to donate Glamorgan runs.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:32 BST 23 August

    Albert c Cliff b Bess 57 (Hants 153-6 - target 278)

You can't blame Toby Albert for trying to sweep that to the boundary as Dom Bess was getting plenty of turn and his innings had ground to a halt since reaching his half-century.

But Ben Cliff has dived sharply to his left at short fine leg and grabbed it just inches off the turf and that is a huge moment in this match.

It certainly felt big with Yorks players enveloping Cliff in a celebratory huddle. They think that was the wicket which has won them the match, with Hants still a long way from their target.

  7. Five-wicket haul for Jack Leachpublished at 12:30 BST 23 August

    Thain c Abell b Leach 11 (Somerset v Essex 367-7 - lead by 56)

    Same combination as before.

Noah Thain pushes forward, Tom Abell takes the catch at second slip and Jack Leach completes a five-for for the 35th time in first-class cricket.

The wicket is helping him but this is high-class stuff from Leach - who recent selections suggest we may have to view as a 'former' England player now.

  8. Postpublished at 12:29 BST 23 August

    Somerset v Essex 367-6 - lead by 56

Too full by Archie Vaughan and Noah Thain sweeps powerfully - in the orthodox manner - for four runs.

A reverse follows two balls later but this is only worth one.

  9. Glamorgan still hopingpublished at 12:27 BST 23 August

    Leics v Glam 183-7 - target 257

The dismissal of Kiran Carlson for 99 could be a mortal blow to Glamorgan's hopes of winning this match.

But Mason Crane and Chris Cooke take seven runs off the next over from Rehan Ahmed and they've got the required runs down to 74.

We very nearly had a tie in the West Midlands yesterday. Could we get one in the East Midlands today?

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:27 BST 23 August

    Flintoff c Zaib b Procter 11 (Lancs 77-6 v Northants - Target 446)

    Oh dear.

This a well-set trap but Rocky Flintoff could not resist jumping into it.

Luke Procter set two men back on the rope at square leg, one behind square and the other just in front and he bangs it in short.

Flintoff takes it on and picks out Saif Zaib 10 yards inside the rope.

  11. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 23 August

    Somerset v Essex 361-6 - lead by 50

Both Essex batters are willing to try the reverse sweep against Archie Vaughan - but not Jack Leach.

Noah Thain uses it to add a single as the Essex lead reaches 50.

They're going to need it to be a lot bigger than that, though, to escape with a draw.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:22 BST 23 August

    Brown c Luxton b Bess 18 (Hants 148-5 v Yorks - target 278)

    But he is now.

Big turn off the pitch and Ben Brown goes with the spin in an attempt to hammer it through square leg but Will Luxton takes a very smart catch at leg slip.

He had precious little time to react but has somehow grabbed it.

Dom Bess thinks that is a very big wicket and he may be right.

  13. Big appealpublished at 12:20 BST 23 August

    Hants 147-4 v Yorks - Target 278

Dom Bess turns one past the inside edge as Toby Albert pushes forward. It rebounds on to his pad and up to silly point where the catch is taken.

Big appeals from the Yorks fielders but not out. Bess is not happy.

  14. 250 up for Middlesexpublished at 12:19 BST 23 August

    Middx 250-8 v Kent - target 356

Joe Cracknell goes up on his toes and forces a ball from Keith Dudgeon away square for a couple as the Middlesex total reaches 250.

A long way to go with only two wickets left, but they're not out of it yet.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:18 BST 23 August

    Carlson c R Patel b A Patel 99 (Leics v Glam 176-7 - target 257)

What a big moment in the match as Kiran Carlson becomes the second Glamorgan batter this season to fall for 99.

He edges Ajaz Patel into the midriff of Rishi Patel at slip to end a stand of 50 with Chris Cooke.

Mason Crane is the other Glamorgan player to be dismissed one short of a century this season and that was in the reverse fixture.

He joins Cooke at the crease now with Glamorgan needing 81 more and Leicestershire requiring three more wickets.

This keeps low from Ben Sanderson and Arav Shetty can't do much about it.

He tries to jab down his bat but it has already hit him bang in front of the stumps.

Wicket number 45 this summer for Sanderson.

Strong performance from Kent this morning. And actually what a turnaround from last season being bottom of the pile. Keeping faith with Adam Hollioake (coach) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (captain) has clearly paid dividends. Super pleased to see Ekansh Singh coming through, as well as Matt Milnes and Sam Northeast coming back.

  18. Postpublished at 12:15 BST 23 August

    Leics v Glam 174-6 - target 257

Tom Scriven concedes his fourth boundary of the day but he was unlucky this time.

Chris Cooke fends away a lifting delivery and it races down to third.

  19. Postpublished at 12:12 BST 23 August

    Somerset v Essex 357-6 - lead by 46

Archie Vaughan gets a bit of drift and Simon Harmer edges just past the outstretched fingers of a diving first slip.

Two runs are added to the Essex score.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:12 BST 23 August

    Ahmed c Cullen b Swanepoel 5 (Glos 310-6 v Worcs - lead by 193)

    Another Gloucestershire batter falls.

Daz Ahmed tries to take on the first ball from Beyers Swanepoel through leg, but the ball goes very high and not very far, allowing wicketkeeper Henry Cullen to get round under it and take a simple catch.

The Glosters' lead is still below 200, so they won't be racing to a declaration now.
