    Warks 127-3 - target 203

Vansh Jani has had a bit of treatment after a blow on the hand - but you can be sure he will want to stay out there to try and see Warwickshire home.

Another 76 needed and lots of overs in which to get them before the close.

  2. Postpublished at 17:03 BST 22 August

    Glamorgan 35-2 v Leicestershire (Target: 257)

It is slow going at Grace Road.

Glamorgan batters Kiran Carlson and Ben Kellaway, rocked by those early wickets of Zain ul Hassan and Asa Tribe, are just stabilising for now but are going at just a smidgen over two runs an over.

Carlson did offer something of a chance, but Ajaz Patel would have pulled off a screamer well above his head in the cordon had he held onto a leading edge.

Leicestershire still on top and looking threatening.

    Harrison c Shetty b Noman 29 (Lancashire v Northants 174-2 - lead by 321)

One for the records, if not for the outcome of this innings or match.

Calvin Harrison, going for a big sweep off Noman Ali, falls in the pursuit of quick runs.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:59 BST 22 August

    Surrey 51-4 v Notts (Target: 329)

Big chance for a fifth Surrey wicket!

Brett Hutton, metronomic, produces another length ball which Mahipal Lomror, on a pair, nudges to where third slip would be.

As it is, Jack Haynes - more in the fourth slip - dives to his right and cannot hold on. It would have been a regulation catch had he been in the conventional third slip.

Lomror escapes down the other end with a single.

  5. Postpublished at 16:59 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 270-3 - trail by 41

Jack Leach posed some problems for the Essex batsmen earlier in the day but only has one wicket to his credit.

He's back for a new spell and Matt Critchley pushes him to deep extra cover for a single to move to 48 not out.

  6. Postpublished at 16:55 BST 22 August

    Middlesex 32-0 v Kent - target 356

Good progress in the first eight overs of the Middlesex second innings from openers Luke Hollman and Sam Robson.

Kent still have so many runs to play with, though.

    Gubbins c Bess b Coad 27 (Hants 48-2 v Yorkshire - target 278)

    Big, big wicket for Yorkshire!

Nick Gubbins is a key man in this Hampshire top order and he has to depart for 27.

He looks to run one down to third man but can only find Dom Bess at first slip who makes a terrific sharp low grab.

Jake Lehmann walks out for Hampshire. They require 230 to win in this battle at the bottom of Division One.

He has five 50s in white-ball cricket and there is Vansh Jani's first in the first-class game as he steers Jaydev Unadkat down to third man for a single.

It has taken him just 53 balls and helped put Warwickshire on course for victory over one of their title rivals.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Ben Stokespublished at 16:52 BST 22 August

    Derbys v Durham 277-6 - lead by 404

Ben Stokes comes down the pitch and smashes Matt Montgomery over his head as the ball hits the media centre for his third six of his innings and certainly the biggest we've seen today.

    His half-century has taken just 38 balls. Stokes' 60th first-class half-century.

That means Durham's lead has moved past 400.

  10. 6 runs

    Somerset v Essex 257-3 - trail by 54

    He's at it again.

Two steps forward by Charlie Allison before lofting Tom Lammonby straight down the ground for a magnificent six as he moves into the 80s.

Matt Critchley is prepared to play second fiddle to his younger partner - his 40 not out has occupied 156 balls so far.

  11. Postpublished at 16:47 BST 22 August

    Hants 45-1 v Yorkshire (target 278)

Nick Gubbins goes to reverse-sweep and does not time it cleanly but manages to bisect the wicketkeeper and first slip perfectly as the ball runs away for four.

Hampshire are looking to attack whenever they can. We could be in for a terrific finale in this one.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:44 BST 22 August

    Foakes b Pennington 1 (Surrey 45-4 v Notts, target 329)

What a ripper from Dillon Pennington!

Ben Foakes cannot get near this ball, which does keep a little low on its way through and removes middle stump from the ground. Ollie Pope at the non-striker's end hangs his head.

Surrey are in all sorts of bother now and Notts' bowling unit has its collective tail up.

  13. Glos leadpublished at 16:43 BST 22 August

    Glos 118-2 v Worcs - lead by 1

It has taken into the 42nd over of their second innings, but Gloucestershire are now in front.

But it's four byes off the bowling of Beyers Swanepoel, but the Glosters won't mind.

This stand between Ollie Price and Miles Hammond is now worth 41 useful runs.

  14. Postpublished at 16:42 BST 22 August

    Warks 111-3 - target 203

Sussex skipper Tom Haines has now brought himself on to bowl - something of a surprise for commentator Adrian Harms, who thinks he is still carrying a side injury.

Jaydev Unadkat apart, though, his front-line bowlers have been unable to stem a flow of runs which sees Warwickshire's scoring rate currently at more than 4.6 per over.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:41 BST 22 August

    O Robinson c Randell b Bashir 5 ( Derbyshire v Durham 259-6 - lead by 386)

And that's the end of Ollie Robinson.

Brydon Carse walks to the middle with Ben Stokes. I think we all know what this means.

Shoaib Bashir gets his third as Robinson lobs a lofted drive straight to Brett Randell at long-on.

  16. Stokes on the chargepublished at 16:39 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 259-5 - lead by 386

Ben Stokes fires through the covers for another powerful boundary and, in the following over, wallops another long hop over Matt Montgomery's head for four.

He has quickly moved on to 39 not out off just 27 deliveries.

  17. 250 runs

250 up for Essexpublished at 16:38 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 250-3 - trail by 61

Tom Lammonby comes into the attack for Somerset and Charlie Allison leg glances his first delivery for four.

Lammonby surprises the young right-hander with a short one which forces him to take his bottom hand off the handle but Matt Critchley calls him through for one as the total reaches 250.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:38 BST 22 August

    Burns c McCann b Hutton 16 (Surrey 40-3 v Notts - target 329)

    Rory Burns departs!

Brett Hutton deserves that wicket after his spell with the new ball. This ball is back of a length, it gets up on Burns a little who looks to cut aggressively, but he is held in the slips by Freddie McCann.

It is a truly brilliant catch. McCann has a split second to react and take the catch above his head and he is moving as he takes it.

  19. Postpublished at 16:37 BST 22 August

    Surrey 39-2 v Notts (Target: 329)

Dillon Pennington strays onto the pads of Rory Burns, who needs no invitation to clip the ball away behind square leg for four.

Pennington thought he had trapped Ollie Pope in front earlier in the over but the appeals fell on deaf ears.

Olly Stone is yet to bowl for Notts after tea, no doubt being given a breather before charging in again.

  20. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:36 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 244-5 - lead by 371

    Here we go.

Ben Stokes comes down the wicket and launches Matt Montgomery back over his head for six - such a powerful strike, even if he didn't seem to time it absolutely perfectly.

The following over, Stokes gives Shoaib Bashir similar treatment, smacking the first ball of the over into the temporary stand over long-off for another maximum. Stokes is 27 not out off 18.
