  1. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:04 BST 22 August

    Surrey 32-2 v Notts (Target: 329)

Olly Stone is at it again at The Oval for Notts.

Having set Surrey an imposing 329 to win this match, thanks in no small part to 95 runs contributed by Joe Clarke, Stone - who took 6-44 in the first innings - removed Dom Sibley and Adam Thomas cheaply with the new ball.

The immediate rebuild is being put in place by Rory Burns (11*) and Pope (14*). There are 42 gripping overs set to be bowled in the final session after tea.

WICKET AND TEA AT DERBYpublished at 16:03 BST 22 August

    McKinney c Andersson b Montgomery 140 (Derbys v Durham 222-4 - lead by 349)

A beautiful innings comes to an end.

After firing a Matt Montgomery long hop over the rope just two balls prior, Ben McKinney looks to dish out similar treatment to another loose delivery once more.

This time, however, his connection is not as clean as McKinney is caught by Martin Andersson at long-off.

McKinney gets pats on backs and handshakes by some Derbyshire players as he walks off the field. Great to see. Tea will now be taken.

  3. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 16:02 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 232-3 - trail 79

Tea is done and dusted and it's time for Essex to resume their second innings. The new ball is only four overs old so Somerset will be hoping it will help them break this partnership between Charlie Allison and Matt Critchley, who cam together before lunch.

  4. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:02 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 222-3 - lead by 349

Ben Stokes comes down to Shoaib Bashir and whips him through mid-wicket for his second boundary of his innings.

The former England captain is 12 not out off 12 balls.

Ben McKinney then goes one better, effortlessly punished a long hop from Matt Montgomery back over his head for six. Do not bowl there, says McKinney.

McKinney moves to 140 not out as Durham's lead nears 350. A declaration later today you would suspect.

  5. Postpublished at 16:00 BST 22 August

    Warks 85-3 - target 203

Vansh Jani throws the bat at a wide one from Sean Hunt and a thick edge brings him four runs to third man.

He tries again from the next delivery and this time the ball flies away in the direction he intended, through cover, taking him to 32 not out.

  6. wicket

WICKET AND TEA AT OLD TRAFFORDpublished at 16:00 BST 22 August

    Procter lbw b Bailey 46 (Lancashire v Northants 121-1 - lead by 268)

Luke Procter is struck on the pads by Tom Bailey and Lancashire have success at the end of a chastening session.

Procter falls four short of a fifty, but he and Ricardo Vasconcelos, who is on 74, have steered Northants into a position of complete dominance.

They lead by 268 on a pitch which is showing signs of life and have four sessions to try to engineer victory.

  7. Leicestershire favourites but a huge chase awaitspublished at 15:58 BST 22 August

    Leicestershire 257 &151 v Glamorgan 152

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

So, 257 is the target for Glamorgan. It's an imposing one on a surface which has done all sorts.

Leicestershire have batted wonderfully today, inspired by a dogged, determined knock by Sheridon Gumbs, who was so unfortunate to not make it to a maiden first-class hundred.

He showed Glamorgan how to bat on this surface, throw your hands at anything wide, be positive, but build your innings on a solid defence.

The Foxes have their tail to thank too for turning round a dicey situation. Key contributions from Ben Mike (28) and a superb 43 from Tom Scriven - who put on 40 for the last wicket with Josh Hull - have made them favourites.

The pitch however seemed to stop misbehaing in the last few hours, that brings Glamorgan into it. They have fought hard for huge wins this season, can they do it again today?

We have it here at 65-35% in Leicestershire's favour.

  8. Hampshire run chase under waypublished at 15:56 BST 22 August

    Hants 4-0 v Yorkshire (target 278)

Ali Orr plays one backward of square into the off-side for four with Hampshire's first ball of their second innings as they get their run chase off to a good start.

  9. Postpublished at 15:56 BST 22 August

    Warks 77-3 v Sussex - target 203

The keeper and slips go up as Tom Clark appears to find the edge of Dan Mousley's bat. The umpire says there was no contact and the Warwickshire batter - on 21 not out - survives.

  10. 200 runs

200 up for Durhampublished at 15:53 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 207-3 - lead by 334

Ben Stokes tucks away a single into square leg to get off the mark against his good mate Shoaib Bashir.

Ben McKinney then fires a loose wide delivery through the cover boundary to see Durham move past 200.

  11. Postpublished at 15:51 BST 22 August

    Surrey 24-2 v Notts (Target: 329)

It has been slow going for Surrey in pursuit of their meaty target and that has been down to the skill and repetition of bowlers Brett Hutton and Olly Stone.

Ollie Pope has, though, just relieved a little pressure when he confidently pulled Hutton away through mid-wicket for four. It looks tricky for Surrey's batters at the moment and they are having to operate cautiously.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:50 BST 22 August

    Bedingham b Bashir 9 (Derbyshire v Durham 198-3 - lead by 325)

A quicker delivery from Shoaib Bashir deceives David Bedingham and goes straight through his defences. Bedingham might just have chopped on to off-stump here.

Ben Stokes walks to the crease at number five for Durham around 12 minutes before tea on day three.

  13. 6 runs

Postpublished at 15:47 BST 22 August

    Warks 71-3 - target 203

Too short from Henry Crocombe and Vansh Jani cracks it away square for four.

Sussex call up Tom Clark for a bowl - as we told you earlier, Fynn Hudson-Prentice will not play any further part in the game because of injury - and Dan Mousley pulls him away for six.

  14. Postpublished at 15:46 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 198-2 - lead by 325

Cracking cover drive by Ben McKinney to the boundary sees him move on to 124 not out.

The following ball is straight driven down the ground for four more.

A batting masterclass this from McKinney. Derbyshire seamer Martin Andersson looks thoroughly fed up here.

  15. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:44 BST 22 August

    Somerset 469 v Essex 158 & 232-3

With so many overs of spin today, they are very much running to time at Taunton. Just a couple of runs come from Jack Leach's final over before tea which ends a very good session for Essex.

The visitors are still 79 in arrears, but added 97 during the afternoon without losing a wicket.

Charlie Allison, who has used the reverse sweep to good effect against Archie Vaughan, is 60 not out and partner Matt Critchley has 39 - the pair having so far added 105.

Somerset will still fancy their chances of winning this game, but Essex will be feeling much happier with things now.

  16. Sixth century for McKinneypublished at 15:39 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 174-2 - lead by 301

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben McKinney has reached 100 for the sixth time in his first-class career and the second time this season. He has a good conversion rate because he only has two half-centuries!

But we have seen both sides of him today. This morning it was important he respected his wicket and built an innings. He has a habit of getting himself out at inopportune moments.

During the session he smashed a six into the stands. Rather than think that's a good result for the over, he then tried to do the same thing a ball later and nearly got himself out. Will Rhodes had to come down the track to talk to him and tell him to concentrate.

He played safely after that before opening up again towards the century mark, when hitting two sixes in a row off Shoaib Bashir. It is good to see aggressive batting at times, but it also has its place and sensible batting often scores more runs than the former.

McKinney put on 157 for the second wicket with Rhodes, who fell LBW to Martin Andersson for 52.

Durham have now reached 174-2 in their second innings and lead by 301. I expect a declaration later and Derbyshire chasing a rather unlikely 400 or so.

  17. wicket

LEICESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 257published at 15:38 BST 22 August

    Scriven b Kellaway 43 (Leics 257 v Glamorgan - lead by 256)

An admirable knock by Tom Scriven is brought to an end in bizarre circumstances - he looks to reverse sweep Ben Kellaway and only succeeds in playing the ball around his waist and onto his stumps. He cannot believe it.

Still, that was a fruitful final wicket for the hosts, with Scriven and Josh Hull (4*) putting on 41.

Glamorgan will resume after tea, which is taken, needing the same score as Leicestershire have just managed.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:36 BST 22 August

    Parkinson c Higgins b Roland-Jones 17 (Middlesex v Kent 241-9 - lead by 342)

Matt Parkinson has enjoyed a nice little cameo but that comes to an end as he steers Toby Roland-Jones to gully.

His partnership of 37 with Chris Benjamin has pushed the Kent lead very close to 350.

  19. Postpublished at 15:35 BST 22 August

    Warks 51-3 v Sussex - target 203

Easy runs for Vansh Jani as Sean Hunt twice errs outside leg stump in his latest over. Both balls are flicked away for four by the young batter as the Warwickshire total passes 50.

  20. wicket

YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 301published at 15:34 BST 22 August

    Hill b Organ 37 (Hants v Yorkshire 301 all out - lead by 277)

And that's the end of that.

George Hill looks to sweep Felix Organ but completely misses out and is bowled around his legs on leg stump.

Organ ends with 4-59 but it has been a day that, so far, has belonged to Yorkshire.

We will reach a result in this one with weather looking set fair until end of play tomorrow. Hampshire have been set 278 to win.

    Tea has now been taken.
