He’s some player George Hill. Hopefully a call up is on the cards soon now that a Yorkshire-man is Test captain

    Charlie, Belgrade

Firstly, thanks Charlie for getting in touch from the Balkans.

George Hill is certainly a very good prospect. He may need a strong finish to the Championship to get the conversation about his England chances going, though.

  2. 6 runs

    Warks 102-3 v Sussex - target 203

Vansh Jani carves a wide one from Henry Crocombe uppishly towards third man. Can Jaydev Unadkat cover the ground to make the catch? No, he can't as the ball flies over the rope for six.

The Warwickshire total reaches three figures and 21-year-old Jani progresses to 43 not out - his best first-class score.

    Clark c Aitchison b Bashir 4 (Derbyshire v Durham 237-5 - lead by 364)

Shoaib Bashir gets his second of the innings as Graham Clark is caught attempting to slog-sweep but finding Ben Aitchison at deep mid-wicket.

A simple catch for the fast bowler. Ollie Robinson joins Ben Stokes at the middle for Durham.

    Tribe lbw b Holland 6 (Glamorgan 13-2 v Leicestershire, target 257)

Commentator's curse. The very next over after Asa Tribe's beautiful four, he is trapped in front by Ian Holland.

This one jags back and Tribe can do nothing about it. Holland's first four overs with the new ball have produced figures of 2-1.

The target of 257 feels quite a way away right now.

  5. wicket

    Orr b Hill 12 (Hants 31-1 v Yorkshire - target 278)

George Hill has done it again for Yorkshire!

It's a good delivery and Ali Orr looks bemused how it's claimed his wicket but it beats the outside edge and hits the top of off-stump.

What a match Hill is having after picking up five-fer yesterday. Important breakthrough for the visitors.

  6. Five sides in fourth innings chasespublished at 16:26 BST 22 August

    #bbccricket

As we head into a long final session on day three, five home sides are now in fourth innings pursuits.

    • Hampshire v Yorkshire
    • Leicestershire v Glamorgan
    • Surrey v Notts
    • Warwickshire v Sussex
    • Middlesex v Kent
  7. Evening session starts at Derbypublished at 16:26 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 226-4 - lead by 353

We are back under way at the County Ground.

Another loose delivery from Matt Montgomery is turned away down to fine leg for four by new man in Graham Clark.

    Durham's lead surpasses 350.

  8. Postpublished at 16:25 BST 22 August

    Glamorgan 13-1 v Leicestershire (Target: 257)

A glorious shot by Asa Tribe brings a boundary for Glamorgan.

Facing Josh Hull, he produces a straight drive back down the ground with immaculate timing.

It has not been easy to score early on for Glamorgan but that was a welcome four.

  9. Middlesex begin run chasepublished at 16:24 BST 22 August

    Middlesex 7-0 v Kent - target 356

The first over of Middlesex's pursuit of 356 begins.

And it ends with a juicy full toss from Matt Milnes that Sam Robson happily sends to the legside rope.

Only the 349 more required now!

  10. Postpublished at 16:23 BST 22 August

    Warks 95-3 - target 203

That will make Sussex feel even worse.

Dan Mousley clips Henry Crocombe to square leg for four as he and Vansh Jani post a half-century partnership from just 57 balls.

    Warks 91-3 - target 203

The final session of the day - and potentially of the match - is about to get under way at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire need another 112 for a third win of the season which will ensure they remain firmly in the title picture going into the final five rounds of games.

Sussex, of course, could spoil that with a flurry of wickets, and they are still unhappy at an umpiring decision just before tea when the umpire ruled that Dan Mousley had not got a nick to the keeper.

Just what you want. 300 runs behind and Ben Stokes walks to the wicket!

    Bob, Newcastle

There could be fireworks in the short time he's probably likely to be batting post-tea, Bob!

    Hants 25-0 v Yorkshire (target 278)

George Hill looks threatening to the left-hander around the wicket once more.

This one stays low on Ali Orr, who is chopped in half, but misses off-stump and Finlay Bean behind the stumps to go down for four byes.

  14. Postpublished at 16:16 BST 22 August

    Hants 21-0 v Yorkshire (target 287)

It's been a good start to this Hampshire run chase. The hosts will have to take this one in small, manageable chunks.

Nick Gubbins chops a wide Ben Coad delivery into the ground away from third man for a boundary and moves on to 12 not out.

Hampshire are currently going at slightly over four-an-over.

Too full from Jake Ball and Charlie Allison drives back along the pitch, just to the left of the stumps from his perspective, and away for the 10th four of his highly impressive innings. He is now 65 not out.

    ul-Hassan c Tattersall b Holland 3 (Leics v Glamorgan 4-1 - target 257)

Huge early wicket for Leicestershire, in pursuit of their second victory of the season!

Ian Holland, having bowled a maiden first over, produces a beauty which angles in to Zain ul-Hassan and just holds its line.

Ul-Hassan can only feather through to Jonny Tattersall behind and captain Kiran Carlson is out in the middle.

  18. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:05 BST 22 August

    Warwickshire 161 & 91-3 v Sussex 156 & 207

There are 44 overs remaining in the day's play at Edgbaston, with Warwickshire needing another 112 to win.

Having been set a target of 203, they began the chase badly, losing Rob Yates, Zen Malik and Will Young to find themselves 42-3.

But Vansh Jani and Dan Mousley have turned things around with an unbroken stand of 49 against a Sussex attack which is a bowler short.

Jani will start the final session 32 not out, with Mousley on 25.

KENT ALL OUT FOR 254published at 16:05 BST 22 August

    Benjamin c Holden b Helm 45 (Middlesex v Kent 254 all out - lead by 355)

Chris Benjamin has done an excellent shepherding job through the last part of the Kent innings and gets the lead over 350.

But he falls when taking on a pull shot, caught on the midwicket fence. Still, he has added exactly 50 for the last two wickets.

That means they lead by 355 with one innings to go - that feels like a tall order for Middlesex when they begin after tea.

  20. Tea at Cheltenhampublished at 16:05 BST 22 August

    Glos 107-2 v Worcs - trail by 12

An attritional session at Cheltenham where run-scoring remains difficult.

The removal of both openers in quick succession by Beyers Swanepoel will provide cheer for Worcestershire, but Gloucestershire's batters have certainly dug in.
