Cumbria Police says it is seeking to establish the full circumstances of the death

A man in his 50s has died at a paper mill following a suspected industrial incident, police have said.

Cumbria Police said it was contacted at 02:46 BST on Monday about the incident at Pelta Medical Papers, in Beetham, which supplies premium Kraft paper packaging.

It said it was seeking to establish the full circumstances of the death.

The paper firm said it was cooperating with the authorities and was not commenting on the circumstances of the death "at this stage". The Health and Safety Executive said it was working with the police.
