A wedding venue has had to close and nearby properties have been evacuated after five suspected bombs from World War Two were discovered.

Gloucestershire Police said they were called to the Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury at 09:30 GMT after construction workers digging in a planned solar panel field found the suspected explosives.

A 200-metre area was cordoned off and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal is due to detonate the items later on Monday.

Megan Fletcher, sales and marketing executive at the Great Tythe Barn, said no events had been scheduled at the venue. She added: "We are asking everyone to stay away from the area and to follow the instructions of the emergency services."
