A teenager made a video "in desperation" describing the moment a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to try to "placate" his "bully boy" co-defendant, a court has heard.

Luis Guembes died after he was stabbed in the head, shoulder and lower back in Guildford's Stoke Park in January.

The murder trial of two teenage boys at Guildford Crown Court has previously heard they deny attacking Guembes in a row over money.

One defendant testified on Friday that some details heard in the video, such as an apparent admission to stabbing Guembes, were not true.

The teenager told the court he thought there would be "repercussions" if he did not make the video and the other defendant would be angry.

He said part of the video, which was made shortly after Guembes was attacked, were false, including the line: "I stabbed him, bro".

The court heard the teenager thought he had deleted the Snapchat video but it had actually only moved to another part of the app.

Roderick Johnson KC, for the defendant, asked him what the point was of making the video if the co-defendant did not receive it.

The teenager replied: "I got home and realised it wasn't in any way true and [the other defendant] wouldn't believe it, so I deleted it."

The teenagers, aged 15 and 16 at the time but now both 16, cannot be named because of their age.

'Going to chef him'

Earlier the court heard the other defendant got "extremely frustrated" as he tried to get the contact details for Guembes from a friend to receive compensation for breaking his phone.

The teenager said he felt "frightened" when the other defendant said the friend, who seemed not to be co-operating, was "wet" and he was "going to chef him".

He told the court he understood the term "chef" to mean slash.

"I thought if I didn't co-operate the same might apply to me", he said.

The teenager told the court he attempted to contact Guembes himself to "speed things up" because he was waiting to go into town.

Cross-examining the teenager, Tim Forte KC, for the other defendant, argued the threat to the friend was untrue, and questioned why he hadn't raised it earlier.

The barrister asked if it was "something you made up now to explain your defence".

The teenager replied: "That's incorrect".

Earlier the teenager told the court that shortly after the incident he and the other defendant were communicating via the Discord app.

"He seemed frustrated, almost angry with me, that I hadn't done what he wanted me to and I was worried what had happened to Guembes," he said.

He denies stabbing Guembes or intending to hurt him.

The defence case for the other defendant is expected to begin when the trial continues on Monday.
