Hundreds of properties across Lancashire are still without power after Storm Boelo.

SP Electricity North West said it hoped to restore power to about 600 homes and businesses by Tuesday night at the latest.

The areas affected include Morecambe, Burnley and Preston, as well as 190 homes in Ribchester in the Ribble Valley.

Electricity boss Paul Killilea said: "The consistent high winds have hampered our repair times."

Over the weekend, about 2,500 homes suffered power cuts in Lancashire.

Fallen trees have blocked a number of roads, including Lea Lane in Preston, and there has also been disruption to rail services between Blackburn, Preston and Bolton.

There were also delays on services to Manchester Airport from Piccadilly, and several trains between Stockport and Buxton were reported to be at a standstill on Monday morning.
