Spooky night market comes to York Shambles for Halloween

York's famous Shambles has hosted a unique night-time Halloween-themed market.

Hundreds of people descended upon the market from all across the UK and further afield.

Visitor Wayne, from Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, said: "I'm just here to see anything which catches my eye: something spooky, something vampiric."

Market manager John Wilmot said he was delighted with the turn-out of traders and visitors: "We've been swamped, it's gone really well."
