Drone footage shows Black Cat roundabout progress

Drone footage has revealed the latest progress on a 10-mile dual carriageway between Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

The new bypass will link the Black Cat roundabout on the A1 in Bedfordshire to the Caxton Gibbet roundabout on the A428 in Cambridgeshire.

National Highways said the £1bn project remained on track despite minor delays to the A1 underpass, which is now expected to open in August 2027 after unforeseen issues were discovered underground.

The new A421 dual carriageway is due to open in May, while some permanent bridges and road alignments are already in use as the scheme is opened in phases.
