  1. Durham best for Aldridgepublished at 15:17 BST 27 August

    Durham 12-1 v Glos 137

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Kasey Aldridge recorded his best figures for Durham as he helped to bowl Gloucestershire out for just 137. It was their second lowest score against their hosts.

Aldridge only bowled five overs but finished with 5-16. His previous best for the county had been 5-19 in a home win against Derbsyhire in June.

Only James Bracey was able to get going with the bat. He was eventually out for 60, LBW to Aldridge in the 42nd over - and at a point where the batsman was running out of partners. Didn't look the best of decisions however!

It will be interesting to see how the Durham batsmen get along in these conditions - and with the lights on. They are up against a depleted Gloucestershire side.

JT Langridge, a 20-year-old left armer, with no Championship experience, has opened the bowling and taken the wicket of Alex Lees. He was caught behind for six.

HANTS 162 ALL OUTpublished at 15:14 BST 27 August

    Jack b Hamza 7 (Glam v Hants 162)

Eddie Jack goes for the big drive, misses and loses his off stump as the Hants effort comes to a full stop.

There were a lot of low scores in the last round so the visitors should not get too downhearted. Perhaps.

Jake Lehmann survives with some green ink having made 51, top score for Hants.

  3. Umpires inspection at Edgbastonpublished at 15:14 BST 27 August

Warks v Notts - delayed start

It's finally stopped raining at a saturated Edgbaston and the umpires have left cover for a look at the middle.

Whether it signals a mopping up operation or a decision to call it a day, we'll soon find out.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:13 BST 27 August

    Lees c Bracey b Langridge 6 (Durham 12-1 v Glos 137)

Alex Lees has tried to be positive, but it's cost him.

He wafts at one from JT Langridge outside off and feathers an edge through to James Bracey.

A first First Class wicket for the Somerset loanee and Glos are up and running.

Will Rhodes is the new batter.

  5. Yorkshire let Leicestershire back into the gamepublished at 15:09 BST 27 August

    Yorkshire 140-4 v Leicestershire

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

This morning, afyer Josh Davey took two early wickets, the ball hooping all over the place - I said on commentary that it was a "green pitch that looks like it will be very good for pace bowling".

Cue a side-eye from my esteemed colleagues who have been here lots of times before. I'm often told I don't know what I'm talking about, but on this one occasion I was told that the pitch can do a lot in the first hour, before settling down.

That is exactly what has happened here. Since those two wickets fell, batting seems a lot easier. James Wharton has seemed comfortable and has passed 50, Sam Whiteman started slowly too before starting to gather pace.

His departure for 49 came out of nowhere really. The tactic seemed to be for Tom Scriven to bowl wide outside off stump and see if Whiteman would take the bait. He did, surprisingly, nicking off.

Matthew Revis has also now just departed to Alex Green - the 19-year-old can be inconsistent but will get you a bit of magic, as he has here.

Yorkshire should be frustrated. The pitch isn't doing too much and Leicestershire's bowling has not been a ferocious as it can be. All season they have struggled to back up good spells, and turn one wicket into two.

They have done it now - but let's see if Leicestershire can back this up and knock down the middle order.

  6. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 27 August

    Durham 2-0 v Glos 137

Alex Lees picks up a couple off JR Langridge's first over, with Daz Ahmed taking the fresh cherry from the opposite end, with Ben McKinney on strike.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:05 BST 27 August

    Revis c Tattersall b Green 14 (Yorks 140-4 v Leics)

    Commentator's curse.

Matthew Revis has looked comfortable, but with poor weather beckoning, he goes for a 28-ball 14.

He swivels looking to pull Alex Green but mistimes the shot and gloves it through to Jonny Tattersall who takes his third catch of the day.

He'll be massively disappointed with that.

Skipper Jonny Bairstow joins James Wharton.

  8. Update from Northamptonpublished at 15:04 BST 27 August

    Northants v Kent

The word from Wantage Road is they will try to begin play at 15:30 BST.

A lot of work going on to try and dry the square, particularly the run-ups.

    We live in hope.

  9. Postpublished at 15:03 BST 27 August

    Yorks 139-3 v Leics

A look at the weather app doesn't look overly promising for this part of the North Yorkshire coast.

Heavy rain is expected soon and is forecast not to relent for the rest of the day.

Matthew Revis and James Wharton (65) will be keen to avoid any mishaps before the weather turns. The tempo has dropped from the innings a tad - are they playing for the close?

Tom Scruven bends his back, but Revis (14) and Wharton (66) trade a single apiece.

  10. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 27 August

    Essex v Surrey 50-4

Sam Cook beats Adam Thomas with a delivery that was a carbon copy of the ball which removed Dom Sibley.

If he is trying to show England what they are missing he is doing good job. He has yet to concede a run in 18 deliveries.

  11. Durham begin replypublished at 15:00 BST 27 August

    Durham 0-0 v Glos 137

Alex Lees and Ben McKinney head out at CLS, where the skies remain leaden and the track remains green.

JT Langridge will take the new ball on debut, complete with a flashy white headband. Game's back.

  12. Tea at New Roadpublished at 14:59 BST 27 August

    Worcs v Lancs

Tea will be taken early before another pitch inspection at Worcester at 15:30 BST.

    Keep those fingers crossed.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:57 BST 27 August

    Foulkes lbw b Snater 0 (Essex v Surrey 50-4)

Three wickets in three overs for Essex as Shane Snater fires a quick one straight which Ben Foulkes simply misses.

He looks back to line up the geometry but Nigel Llong is in no doubts and quite right.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:55 BST 27 August

    Abbott c Cooke b Douthwaite 16 (Glam v Hants 150-9)

Superb take tumbling down the leg side as Kyle Abbott's entertaining little knock comes to an end.

There was a clear nick as he tried to steer it to fine leg but Chris Cooke anticipated the edge and threw himself to his left to take a catch low one handed.

To be fair to Abbott, he made the decision for the umpire by walking.

  15. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 27 August

    Yorks 133-3 v Leics

It hasn't taken long for new batter Matthew Revis to get into his stride, punching a ball from Alex Green off the back foot.

It's placed beautifully through the gap between mid-off and extra cover for his first boundary.

Revis plays the last ball of the over off his hip for four more.

A rare costly over from Green - his previous seven had gone for just 15 runs.

  16. wicket

    GLOS 137 ALL-OUTpublished at 14:52 BST 27 August

    Langridge c McKinney b Aldridge 4 (Durham v Glos 137)

A five-wicket haul for Kasey Aldridge. 5-16 from five overs. Nice day at the office.

JT Langridge tries another expansive shot but falls to a flashing catch at point by Ben McKinney.

Durham call for the heavy roller and will begin their reply shortly.

A good toss to win, sure, but Durham's procession to Division One remains on course while it's another meagre return for basement-boys Glos, for whom James Bracey (60) scored nearly half their total.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:51 BST 27 August

    Sibley c Pepper b Cook 21 (Essex v Surrey 41-3)

    That is a beauty.

Angled in towards middle and leg at the pitch by Sam Cook but it leaves Dom Sibley with a ferocious jag and takes the edge.

That was almost unplayable with Michael Pepper grabbing the catch behind the stumps.

  18. Cook into the actionpublished at 14:48 BST 27 August

    Essex v Surrey 41-2

    Sam Cook of Essex

Sam Cook missed out on lunch at Lord's as he was surplus to requirements but after dumping his bags, changing his kit and downing a quick sausage roll, he is into the swing of things at Chelmsford.

His first over was a maiden and he has three dots at the start of his second.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:46 BST 27 August

    Bracey lbw b Aldridge 60 (Durham v Glos 133-9)

    Four for Kasey Aldridge.

    Gloucestershire are on the brink.

James Bracey's vigil is over. A full and straight ball from Aldridge thuds into the pads. Bracey seems to think there was an inside edge, but umpire James Tredwell puts up the finger.

JT Langridge is last man in, making his first ever First Class appearance after signing on loan from Somerset yesterday.

His first ball is crunched down the field for a sublime four.

    Welcome to the show, JT.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:45 BST 27 August

    Blake c Harmer b Snater 14 (Essex v Surrey 41-2)

Josh Blake pushes at a full delivery from Shane Snater and he can only get an edge on it, the deflection flying to Simon Harmer at second slip.
