    Pakistan in pink today.

Doubtless a similar shade to the rosy cherubic cheeks of Mike Peter after his run on a blustery Autumn morning earlier?

Anyway, Mike's on hand to talk you through the rest of England's innings in Lahore.

Seven an over from here gets England 305, which I don't think is a difficult task for the modern batter.

The only thing which will stop that is wickets for Pakistan.

Pakistan have to problem solve here as to how they're going to break this partnership.

  3. Eng 135-4published at 25 points

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi decides now is the time to bring him himself back, only to start with a bit of a freebie.

His first ball is a short long hope which is pumped in front of square after a cross-batted whip by Ben Duckett.

Left-arm quick Shaheen a bit tighter in the remainder of the over.

Shadab Khan has a little bit of purchase, but he is bowling it quick.

That is something England will come to look at when England bowl their spinners.

Hitting the top of the stumps seems to be the challenging length on this pitch.

Ben Duckett is moving into his work much more nicely.

He is doing a very good job for his side in rebuilding a perilous situation.

  6. Eng 128-4published at 24 overs

Shaheen Afridi continues with Shadab Khan.

The Pakistan leg-spinner has his head in his hands after Ben Duckett just about manages to lay bat on a sweep which would have hit him plumb in front had he missed it.

Duckett is up to 69 off 68 balls now.

Ben Duckett had brought out the sweep only twice in his innings before the last over - while it's a shot he's renowned for it has caused Duckett some trouble recently in ODIs, with four of his six dismissals against spin this year coming when sweeping.

Such an easy swing from Ben Duckett, who usually controls his sweeps.

Duckett feels if he can reach the ball on a half volley he can lift it up over for six. He did just that.

    Eng 125-4published at 23 overs

Ben Duckett is one of the best sweepers in the business.

He gets down on one knee to the third ball of the over from Salman Agha and hammers him over the rope for six.

The penultimate ball of Salman's over and Duckett nails the reverse sweep - in the air - to pick up four more.

Trigger, from Only Fools and Horses, would be proud of that sweeping.

We need Ben Duckett to go to three figures, but unfortunately we have seen him get out too often after having built a base.

Shadab Khan, white sun block smeared across his nose and cheeks, continues with his leggies.

England content to work the ball into the gaps, waiting for the bad ball, rather than anything too extravagant.

Ben Duckett groans in frustration off the final ball of the over after his reverse sweep picks out the fielder behind square.

England milk five runs off the over.

Ian from York makes a great point at 09:26. It can’t always go your way, but sport always has that chance where the unexpected happens. The drama of that final over against Sri Lanka was a privilege to listen to even though we lost. Pure theatre.

  13. Eng 105-4published at 21 overs

Ben Duckett and Sam Curran rotate the strike in the remainder of Salman Agha's over.

England have a platform for some sort of total now.

They have steadied the ship nicely, Sam Curran and Ben Duckett.

Curran had a tough day out with the ball in the previous game, but he is making a mends here.

Duckett has looked much more fluent today.

A calm bunt down the ground from Ben Duckett off Salman Agha brings him fifty.

Duckett holds his bat by the blade and acknowledges the applause from his England team-mates

Interesting to see wrist spin for the first time in this series from Pakistan.

England have left Adil Rashid out, maybe Pakistan know that wrist spin is suited to this surface.

  17. Eng 102-4published at 20 overs

Sam Curran gets on slightly leg side from Shadab Khan and is able to nudge the ball off his hips for a couple.

Ben Duckett reverse sweeps the final ball of the over for a single to move on to 49 and keep the strike.

  18. Eng 98-4published at 19.3 overs

Shadab Khan's leg-spin is called upon by Shaheen Afridi, who has got almost all of his bowling changes spot on today.

He starts with a couple of dot balls dabbed away by Sam Curran.

I think the off spin against the two lefties is what Pakistan are going for. With scoreboard pressure, I think England would be brave to start slogging the left-arm spinner.

  20. Eng 98-4published at 19 overs

Ben Duckett moves on to 48 with a poke through point off Salman Agha before Sam Curran pinches the strike with a nudge into the on side.
