  1. Pak 79-4published at 14 overs

Whatever issue Jamie Overton had with his knee appears to have resolved itself and he is fit enough to continue bowling.

Salman Agha falls over to his second delivery from Overton and the England seamer asks the question regarding lbw, but neither the umpire nor Harry Brook are taking matters further based on height.

Hasan Nawaz is the new batter. He can be a destructive player, but is playing the situation quite cautiously at the moment.

Jamie Overton has taken six of England's 24 wickets in the middle overs since his return to the side against Sri Lanka earlier this summer.

  3. Pak 76-4published at 13 overs

The crowd are buzzing with excitement at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Sam Curran enters the fray and starts with a tight over - just two runs conceded.

Feels on a knife edge this game.

I love England cricketers. They have, and still do, give me so much pleasure and heartache. That’s the attraction. The glorious days make it all worthwhile. Brook making 200 last week was magical!

Saad Baig has thrown away a start for the third time in this series. England won't care how they get them, they just need to get them.

Injured or not, Jamie Overton has a wicket!

Saad Baig flashes a drive straight into the hands of Will Jacks, who takes a very smart catch indeed at backward point.

Saad Baig has one shot and he’s played it about 20 times. England need to bowl straight. Please, I feel like I’m watching a replay every 10 seconds!

  8. Pak 74-3published at 11.4 overs

Jamie Overton pulls up during his run-up for the fifth ball of the over, and starts grimacing.

He receives some attention from the physio and wants to continue but is still moving very gingerly.

Saad Baig looks smooth and he looks calm. He is very balanced at the crease, and he is turning the tide back at England here.

He is a player who thrives on width, and he seems to be in good form. He thrashes that away to the boundary with ease.

  10. Pak 74-3published at 11.4 overs

Waspish cut from Saad Baig! Short from Jamie Overton and the Pakistan left-hander pings it over the fielder behind point for four.

That gets a nod of approval from Mike Hesson after the cameras zoom in on him in the stands.

    Close as it stands.

  12. Pak 65-3published at 11 overs

Gus Atkinson sends down a quick bumper with his second delivery of the over to Salman Agha, who takes on the hook but ends up gloving it over the top for four.

Later in the over, Saad Baig flashes at another short one from Atkinson which is much wider and the ball goes through third for four.

Much more conviction off the final ball of the over from Atkinson - and likely the last in this spell - as Saad hammers a drive through the covers for four more.

Before we all get excited or downbeat. We should wait until both teams have batted.

I did say earlier to be positive rather than go down the gloom spiral as this could be a bowlers' pitch!

This is the third time I have watched Saad Baig bat, but there is a nice simplicity to the way he approaches it.

This has been a promising start by Saad Baig's innings, as he twice square drives Henry Crocombe through the covers with aplomb.

Saad is unbeaten on 20 off 15 balls.

People will enjoy the game much more when they realise England's cricket team is on par with the football team. They’re OK, probably ranked about sixth, but they are never going to consistently win any series, or beat the top teams.

  17. Pak 41-3published at 9 overs

They've just shown a montage of those two glorious shots from Babar Azam, followed by his dismissal.

The Pakistan batter looked back at his stumps after the death rattle almost in disbelief he had been bowled.

Salman Agha shows the maker's name to his first couple of deliveries from Gus Atkinson, before nicking the third to slip but it does not quite carry.

The bowlers and Harry Brook, who is always at mid-off, don't have towels, but the evidence of our eyes and the way fielders have slid when they hit the field suggest there is dew this evening.

    Not far from the slips!

Saad Baig edges Henry Crocombe wide of the diving Jamie Overton, picking up four.

His next shot is much more authoritative, pulling powerfully to the square leg ropes for back-to-back boundaries.
