An arch of handmade poppies has been hung at Sark's harbour entrance to commemorate Armistice Day.

Brian Le Page from Sark and Tess Le Gallez in Guernsey appealed for volunteers to knit poppies for the project.

More than 50 knitters formed a Knit and Natter group and made 400 scarlet poppies from wool donated by the Craftwise shop which were then sent to Sark.

The poppy arch was erected by Le Page who said it was "a wonderful example of two island communities coming together to mark such an important occasion".
