A trial of five people accused of raiding a UK site of an Israel-based defence firm has stopped after the jury was dismissed.

Qesser Zuhrah, 21, Zahra Farooque, 26, Kamran Ahmed, 29, Heba Muraisi, 31 - all from London - and Liam Mullany, 34, from Poole, were on trial for their alleged role in a break-in at the Elbit Systems UK Ltd factory on the outskirts of Bristol in August 2024. They denied charges of criminal damage and violent disorder.

Judge Lees discharged the jury on Wednesday - a month after the trial opened at Woolwich Crown Court.

The Crown Prosecution Service told the BBC it would be seeking a retrial.

Jurors can be discharged by a judge if they fail to reach a verdict or if they commit misconduct.

An administrative hearing to discuss next steps was set for 18 November at Woolwich Crown Court.

Elbit Systems UK has consistently denied supplying the Israeli army with weapons.
