No site found yet for town centre Post Office
LDRSA town centre Post Office is set to close in the coming months, with no replacement location yet secured.
The branch inside TG Jones, in Bracknell's Princess Square, will shut shortly before the store closes in January 2027 as part of the retailer's restructuring plans.
Post Office said it was in the "early stages" of reviewing applications to run a replacement branch, but has yet to confirm where a new site could be based.
In an update published this week, it said it was "working hard" to find a nearby location.
The organisation said: "The provision of a Post Office service to our customers in the area is important to us."
Customers are being directed to alternative branches in Priestwood and Great Hollands, around one mile (1.6km) and 1.8 miles (2.9km) from the town centre respectively.
However, neither offers the Passport Check & Send service currently available at Princess Square, where staff check passport applications before they are submitted.
The existing branch also provides banking, postal services and vehicle tax.
An exact closure date has not been revealed, though TG Jones said it expected to shut its branch in January 2027.
Post Office said posters would be displayed in the branch once this was known.
Bracknell MP Peter Swallow previously raised concern about the closure in Parliament and asked the government what it was doing to protect the services.
