    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 0-0

Nottinghamshire skipper Haseeb Hameed comes back to the crease with opening partner Ben Slater with his side 118 runs behind Sussex.

The reigning champions will need to bat very well indeed to make a real fist of this.

Jaydev Unadkat with the first over for Sussex.

Leics 17-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Leicestershire play in the One-Day Cup final against Middlesex at Trent Bridge on Sunday - and how emotionally charged might that game be in view of the breaking news last night?

James Fuller gets a ball to straighten on Rishi Patel as the ball whistles through to keeper-captain Ben Brown.

Fuller gets one to keep low outside off and this ball bounces twice on its way to the keeper. Maiden over.

Well I guess the silver lining is throwing the title away in the penultimate game is less painful than missing out on the last day as Somerset seem to have made a habit...

    Bernard, York

So good to see the fight and application from Yorkshire today. More of this next season with a couple of batting signings and we’ll be looking up the table and not over our shoulders next season

Somerset have been stalled by a Hill and will have to face a Cliff on this journey!

    Mark, Great Hallingbury

Indeed, Mark! A reminder as if anyone needed it that Ben Cliff took 8-76 in Somerset's first innings.

  4. 100 runs

100 for Cranepublished at 14:34 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 550-9

Incredible effort from Mason Crane who was 48 short of his century when the ninth wicket fell.

He hits his second 50 in 38 balls securing it with a huge six off Dan Lawrence.

He may now be singing "can I play you every week", it's his second first class century and both have come against Surrey this season.

Glamorgan 567 ahead, and in no mood for declaring.

  5. Postpublished at 14:33 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 266-8 v Somerset 201

Somerset are trying everything they can and Archie Vaughan is on to bowl some off-spin.

It doesn't work straight away though, despite a few nice deliveries from Vaughan, as Kuldeep Yadav sweeps him for four.

  6. Postpublished at 14:33 BST 17 September

Leics 17-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Four slips in for Kyle Abbott - and Rishi Patel pushes defensively into the off side.

Patel goes across the stumps to the third ball, flicking it away for one.

Sheridon Gumbs shapes to hit through point, missing with a flashing drive.

George Hill? What about Craig Overton, this season he is the country's best all - rounder which guarantees he won't be selected by England, even if he is the best player in his family. Dave

    David, Farnham

George hill was the 12th man for THAT Headingley 2019 ashes test. Got to pick him as the stokes all rounder replacement just for the story alone surely! (Not even taking into account he’s a brilliant cricketer)

    Charlie, York

George Hill is certainly a player that needs to be tested at the highest level. England must try out the younger players, quality all rounders are in short supply. SA this winter, take him?

    Happyvic, Hull

  8. 250 runs

250 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:30 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 262-8 v Somerset 201

Yorkshire have raced past the 250 mark and now their lead is worth 273 runs.

Somerset are going to have to chase down something in the region of 300 to win this match at this rate.

Not ideal really for the title hopefuls.

  9. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 17 September

Leics 16-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

James Fuller is into his second over of the innings.

Single to Rishi Patel, pushing to wide mid on.

A bit of width and Sheridon Gumbs goes back to drive to backward point for two.

Fuller gets one to bounce on a length and Gumbs does well to get his bat and gloves out of the way as the ball zips over the stumps.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:29 BST 17 September

    Guest b Harrison 12 (Northants 310 v Derbys 372 & 164-6)

Brooke Guest tries to sweep the spinner Calvin Harrison and is bowled around his legs.

Derbyshire's lead is 226 with four wickets left and with plenty of time left this match is nicely poised.

  11. Stokes finishes with 6-94published at 14:29 BST 17 September

    Durham 465 v Worcestershire 448

Ben Stokes claims the last wicket of the Worcestershire first innings, dismissing Fateh Singh for 26, and the former England captain ends with figures of 6-94.

The Pears have done well to pretty much get to parity with Durham, aided by their last three wickets adding more than 130.

  12. wicket

SUSSEX 358 ALL OUTpublished at 14:27 BST 17 September
    Breaking

    Unadkat b Patterson-White 0 (Sussex 358 v Notts 240)

Nottinghamshire have absolutely rattled through these last four wickets for just eight runs.

Tailender Jaydev Unadkat is bowled by spinner Liam Patterson-White and Sussex's lead over the defending champions is 118 runs.

Brett Hutton took 4-59, Olly Stone 3-81 and Patterson-White 2-64.

Notts are going to have to do some serious work with the bat to get themselves into a winning position to keep their title hopes alive but it could've been a lot worse when Sussex were rattling along not too long ago.

  13. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 17 September

Leics 13-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Two runs off the James Fuller over.

Kyle Abbott bowls outside off stump to Sheridon Gumbs, who leaves the ball alone.

Four slips in. Gumbs is struggling with the wide angle, shaping the ball back in.

He goes across the stumps, driving to short extra cover for no run.

    Maiden over.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:24 BST 17 September

    Karvelas c Hameed b Hutton 3 (Sussex 357-9 v Notts 240)

    WOW! Can you believe this?!

From the VERY LAST ball in which Nottinghamshire could secure a third bowling point, they manage to pull it off.

Ari Karvelas shovels one through mid-wicket off Brett Hutton and Haseeb Hameed dives low to his right to take a quite stunning catch.

How important could that prove to be for the defending champions? Only time will tell, but that is some drama.

  15. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 17 September

    Sussex 357-8 v Notts 240

Brett Hutton beats the outside edge of Ari Karvelas' bat before the South African blocks solidly.

Three balls left for Notts to get a third bowling point.

  16. Leicestershire score 11 off the first overpublished at 14:21 BST 17 September

Leics 11-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

Well, it will be done by the end of the day!

Leicestershire will chase this down in 30 overs.

  17. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 17 September

Leics 11-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Rishi Patel is off the mark straight away with three runs driven between the three slips and backward point.

Single to Sheridon Gumbs and Patel has four driven through cover.

Three more to Patel driving through mid off.

He's joining Hampshire next season, by the way.

A bright start for Leicestershire indeed!

  18. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 17 September

    Sussex 357-8 v Notts 240

Sean Hunt edges Olly Stone for four off the last ball of the 109th over.

Now Nottinghamshire have one more over to try and get one more wicket that would give them a third bowling point.

Brett Hutton is going to bowl it.

  20. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:15 BST 17 September

    Northants 310 v Derby 372 & 153-5

Caught and bowled's are never easy but Calvin Harrison will be disappointed at not holding on to a high chance.

    Martin Andersson survives on 44.

    Derbyshire's lead is 215
