Leics 0-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A vital and steep chase awaits Leicestershire - who must win to retain hope of Division One survival going into the final championship round - away against Warwickshire.

Here's openers Rishi Patel and Sheridon Gumbs.

Kyle Abbott to bowl to Patel.

    Carson c Haynes b Hutton 53 (Sussex 352-8 v Notts 240)

Another wicket for Nottinghamshire and now they have 15 more balls to get one more for a third bowling point, which could be crucial.

Jack Carson tries to ease it into the leg-side off Brett Hutton but it takes a leading edge and loops up to Jack Haynes in the covers to take the catch.

A decent knock by Carson, who goes for 53.

Leics 0-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

"That's going to be tough. I would be disappointed if Hampshire didn't win this.

But a couple of Leicestershire players get in, you never know."

  4. wicket

WICKET AND HAMPSHIRE ALL OUT - LEICS 334 TO WINpublished at 14:09 BST 17 September

    Fuller LBW b Holland 18 - Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 363

Ian Holland bowls... A bit of shape in and James Fuller is hit low on the pad in front of the stumps. He's out for 18.

The Leicestershire captain wraps up the innings and the target is 334 for the club to win and retain hope of staying in Division One.

Back in 10 minutes. The heavy roller comes on.

  5. Five wickets for Stokespublished at 14:07 BST 17 September

    Durham 465 v Worcestershire 431-9

Ben Stokes has just taken his fifth wicket of the innings, dismissing Tom Taylor lbw for a fine 61.

Stokes has 5-82 but Worcestershire's lower order, led by Taylor, are making a good fight of things at Chester-le-Street.

  6. wicket

    Toole LBW Thomas 0 (Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 496-9)

Raymond Toole lasts two balls before Adam Thomas claims his maiden first class wicket.

It's plumb LBW and Surrey will soon be batting chasing at least 514 with more than four sessions left in the match.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:06 BST 17 September

    Bess b Pretorius 77 (Yorkshire 212 & 239-8 v Somerset 201)

    Another big wicket for Somerset.

It's a full, fast and straight from Migael Pretorius and Dom Bess is finally beaten.

He goes for 77 from 186 balls and his 166-run partnership with George Hill earlier may well prove to be vital in this match.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:06 BST 17 September

van der Gugten run out (Pope) (Surrey 115 v Glam 132 & 496-8)

Timm van der Gugten is called for a single and a brilliant throw from Ollie Pope sends a stump spinning out of the ground with the Glamorgan batter well short.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:05 BST 17 September

    Price c McCann b Stone 72 (Sussex 350-7 v Notts 240)

    Notts really needed that.

Olly Stone finds the outside edge of Tom Price's bat and Freddie McCann takes the catch at second slip.

Sussex lead by 110 and the defending champions still need three more wickets before they can have a bat again.

A lot of work still to do for Notts.

  10. Postpublished at 14:04 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 239-7 v Somerset 201

Yorkshire made just 56 runs for the first six wickets. They've put on 185 for just one wicket since then.

It seems like a long time ago now that Somerset felt like they were closing in on a certain victory.

Lewis Gregory bowls a maiden but that's scant consolation right now. They want wickets.

  11. Postpublished at 14:02 BST 17 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 363-9

Well! Ajaz Patel bowls a beamer! No ball and clubbed away for four.

    You couldn't make this up.

That was above the eyeline and Patel offers an apology before sinking to his knees. He has bowled 33 overs before this one.

  12. 50 runs

50 for Jack Carsonpublished at 14:01 BST 17 September

    Sussex 350-6 v Notts 240

Jack Carson has four more, even if it's a slightly lucky edge down to third man off Brett Hutton.

But it takes him through to 50 from 81 balls.

And Sussex also reach the 350 mark.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:00 BST 17 September

    Currie c Holland b Patel 11 (Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 357-9)

Ajaz Patel is now in his 34th over of the innings and Scott Currie works the ball away off the back foot for one.

James Fuller goes back and across to slap a ball through mid off for a single.

Scott Currie tries to go over the top and is caught by Ian Holland at mid on! Just chipped it really.

    Now here comes Kyle Abbott.

Game on if this wicket falls quickly? The lead is 327.

  14. 6 runs

and 50 for Cranepublished at 13:59 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 492-7

Mason Crane whips a James Taylor delivery and sends the ball crashing off the scoreboard.

Crane already has a century against Surrey this season and now he adds a 50.

Glamorgan's lead now an eye watering 509.

  15. 250 runs

Yorkshire lead by 250published at 13:59 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 239-7 v Somerset 201

Four more for Dom Bess, tickling down to fine leg off Craig Overton and he's onto 77.

Perhaps more importantly, Yorkshire's lead over Somerset is now 250.

  16. Postpublished at 13:58 BST 17 September

    Sussex 345-6 v Notts 240

It's going well for Sussex. Not so for Notts at the moment.

Jack Carson guides down to third man for four off Olly Stone and now Carson is on the verge of a 50.

  17. Fox visits The Ovalpublished at 13:57 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 482-7

A fox has been wondering around the outfield at The Oval.

Has it been sent from Leicestershire to protest the points deduction?

  18. Postpublished at 13:57 BST 17 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 355-8

One slip in for Ian Holland. James Fuller blocks into the off side.

Holland oversteps for a no-ball - and that's the innings 350 in the 107th over.

Fuller gets a single off the next ball and Scott Currie leaves a ball that seams in and bounces over the stumps.

The fourth ball swings in and is driven to deep cover for two.

Currie gets an inside edge away fine for one.

  19. Postpublished at 13:56 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 235-7 v Somerset 201

Kuldeep Yadav edges off Lewis Gregory and it flies wide of the slip cordon.

Jack Leach races around to try and cut it off in the deep but can only push it onto the rope.

A good effort but it kind of sums up how this day has gone for Somerset so far.

Just the one wicket on day three for the title chasers and Yorkshire lead by 246.

  20. 'Surrey look deflated'published at 13:54 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 472-7

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Sedate progress from the visitors in the Oval sunshine as Timm van der Gugten and Mason Crane stretch the lead up towards 500 against a rather deflated-looking Surrey.

Crane edged a couple of boundaries against Auqib Nabi but Van der Gugten unfurled some meaty drives to move to his highest score of the Championship campaign and lead a century stand.

With a draw now enough to keep Glamorgan up, there is little pressure on them to start their bowling efforts.
