Leics 37-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Rishi Patel is forward and across to Kyle Abbott, defending into the on side.

The second ball is pushed with bat and pad perfectly aligned into the off side for one.

Sheridon Gumbs is across the stumps to a ball that holds its line and squares him up, but he survives.

Abbott is nearly through Gumbs, who gets an inside edge blocking down the pitch.

Now he's beaten on the outside edge. Excellent and as yet unrewarded bowling from the veteran seamer - who has 61 wickets for Hampshire this season.

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 25-0

Haseeb Hameed with a textbook cover drive to punch Ari Karvelas' half-volley to the boundary for four. Lovely shot.

Hameed then flicks into the leg-side for another single.

Very sunny in Hove now. Stark contrast to how it was for most of the morning.

GLAMORGAN 594 ALL OUTpublished at 15:02 BST 17 September

    Hamza c&b Thomas 35 (Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 594)

After Mason Crane and Mir Hamza add 98 for the final wicket with some gleeful hitting, Glamorgan are all out having taken the lead over 600.

Surrey dropped a couple of chances in the stand but at last they end it with a brilliant catch off his own bowling from Adam Thomas.

Crane records a career best 114 not out.

Surrey have been set what would be a record breaking 612 to win.

They won't get them but can they bat out four sessions for a draw?

    Tea is being taken.

  4. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 17 September

Leics 36-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Scott Currie gets some outswing bowling to Rishi Patel but there's enough room for the opener to leave that ball.

Patel is forward and gets a thick inside edge fine for one.

A bit of extra bounce from Currie as Sheridon Gumbs defends with the upper part of the bat.

  5. Postpublished at 15:00 BST 17 September

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 20-0

A maiden over for Sean Hunt but a relatively decent start to their second innings for Notts after six overs.

Ben Slater is on 10 from 21 balls and Haseeb Hameed has five from 15.

We still have 46 overs remaining in the day.

  6. Postpublished at 14:58 BST 17 September

Leics 35-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Leicestershire have a long way to go but are off to a good start in a hefty chase.

A single to Rishi Patel off Kyle Abbott and Sheridon Gumbs defends.

We saw some evidence of irregular bounce earlier but that is not in evidence now.

Abbott bowls a beauty to nip away from Gumbs at the end of the over.

There you go Somerset. Now’s your chance to show us you are champions. What a game!

It's the hope that really gets you. Also see Bath City and Cincinnati Bengals.

Simon the Somerset fan in Bath (not getting a lot of work done).

As a fellow Somerset supporter once said in one of his films: it's not the despair, I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand! Horrible feeling it's another second place coming for us.

    Durham 465 & 19-0 v Worcestershire 448

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

At this moment in time this looks like being a high-scoring draw.

Thoughts of Durham running through the Worcestershire line-up were soon put to bed this morning when Tom Taylor and Matthew Waite put together an eighth wicket stand of 75.

Taylor and Fateh Singh then added 41 for the ninth wicket, on a track which looked to have totaly flattened out and offered very little for the bowlers, unless your name was Ben Stokes.

He eventually finished with 6-94 but bowled nearly 32 overs in getting there.

Earlier Adam Hose was given out caught behind for 105. It was only the third century of his first-class career and it didn't look like he hit the ball either.

I am seasoned enough to appreciate there could be twists and turns in this game yet. There are 38 overs of day three left and all of tomorrow. So, you never know!

  9. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 17 September

Leics 34-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Scott Currie relaces James Fuller in the attack.

A low full toss is driven past mid off for four by Sheridon Gumbs and the target dips to 300.

YORKSHIRE 275 ALL OUT - SOMERSET REQUIRE 287 TO WINpublished at 14:52 BST 17 September
    Breaking

    Cliff b Vaughan 0 (Yorkshire 212 & 275 v Somerset 201)

Number 11 bat Ben Cliff comes and goes for a two-ball duck as he's clean bowled by Archie Vaughan and Yorkshire are all out for 275.

Somerset will need to score 287 runs to win the game and keep hopes of a first ever County Championship title in their own hands.

Who do you fancy to win this one? Gripping stuff.

  11. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:52 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 584-9

This is sorry stuff from Surrey. Glamorgan number 11 Mir Hamza has a swing and sub fielder Nathan Barnwell puts down the skier.

Mason Crane and Hamza are enjoying themselves. Surrey's bowlers and fielders aren't.

    Glamorgan's lead is now 601.

  12. Postpublished at 14:50 BST 17 September

Leics 30-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Rishi Patel is across his stumps glancing to leg against Kyle Abbott.

He survives the LBW shout and the ball runs away for two leg byes.

Another LBW appeal - with Patel going forward to block and just getting outside the line.

Patel turns a ball behind square leg for two - and gets four driving through cover.

    Coad c Thomas b Vaughan 15 (Yorkshire 212 & 273-9 v Somerset 201)

Somerset have almost got through the Yorkshire batting line-up.

Archie Vaughan gets some real turn into Ben Coad and it loops up off his glove to Josh Thomas at short leg for an easy catch.

The Yorkshire lead is 284 after a 34-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Coad and Kuldeep Yadav.

Looking out of back window over Beckett Park there's big showers. Hoping sun stays out in Headingley.

    Gloucs 296 v Middlesex 326 & 154-2

There's not a huge amount riding on this game, with Middlesex out of the promotion picture and Gloucestershire bottom of the table.

But just to bring you up to speed, Middlesex are building a very handy lead in Bristol - it's up to 185 with Sam Robson (71*) and Ben Geddes (49*) going along nicely.

  16. Postpublished at 14:46 BST 17 September

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 8-0

Five leg byes and a boundary for Ben Slater from Sean Hunt's over.

How do you approach this if you're Nottinghamshire? Go all out for the win and risk losing the title completely with a defeat to Sussex?

Or be happy with a draw if they can get it and go into the final game of the season seven points behind Warwickshire?

    A real conundrum.

  17. Postpublished at 14:45 BST 17 September

Leics 22-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

James Fuller is bowling round the wicket to Sheridon Gumbs.

A full ball is driven through point for four.

Lovely shot, just leaning into it at the last possible moment.

Fuller goes leg side and that's a fine diving stop from keeper-captain Ben Brown.

    Andersson LBW Harrison 62 (Northants 310 v Derby 372 & 177-7)

A quicker ball from Calvin Harrison pins Martin Andersson back and it's the tenth LBW of the match.

Derbyshire now lead by 239 and with Northants needing a win we could be in for a thrilling run chase.

  19. Postpublished at 14:41 BST 17 September

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 0-0

Jaydev Unadkat starts with a maiden to Haseeb Hameed.

  20. Postpublished at 14:41 BST 17 September

Leics 18-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Now Kyle Abbott gets a ball to take off on a length and the keeper takes it at head height.

Clear signs of uneven bounce on this pitch.

Sheridon Gumbs is beaten outside off and this chase looks altogether different since 11 runs were scored off the first over.

He gets a single into the off side and Rishi Patel sees out the over.
