    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 41-1

Haseeb Hameed is keen to keep Notts ticking. He drives Jaydev Unadkat through the covers for four to go to 18.

Freddie McCann is the new man at the crease for the visitors after Ben Slater's dismissal.

  2. Postpublished at 15:26 BST 17 September

Somerset 0-1 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

A third maiden of Somerset's run chase with no score off Ben Coad's second over.

Still Somerset await their first run of the second innings.

  3. Postpublished at 15:25 BST 17 September

Leics 46-1 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

That was a fine piece of bowling from Scott Currie to dismiss Rishi Patel, full at the stumps and a hint of movement away.

Rehan Ahmed sees out the over.

James Fuller gets a ball to seam back sharply to Sheridon Gumbs in the next over, not missing the stumps by a lot as the opener leaves the ball.

Gumbs gets a leg bye off the third ball and Ahmed is back with one foot off the ground to slap a wide ball through point for four. Stylish.

Sorry I am a bit out of breath. Been doing a rain dance on my lawn. With their long batting line up I fancy Somerset to get the runs in 4 sessions so shortening the game will make it more interesting as I think they have to go for it.

    Chris, Exiled Bears supporter

In some ways it's nice to be the only non-test county to have been a title challenger so consistently for so many years, but it would sure be nice to actually win one for the South West...

    Chris (Somerset fan), Wiltshire

A number of finely balanced matches still in progress. I hate to mention it, but the mid-September weather may have the final say in a couple of them - the forecast for tomorrow afternoon at Headingley isn’t great!

Maiden over to start for Ben Cliff. Somerset are still 0-1 after two overs.

    R Patel c Brown b Currie 27 - Leics 41-1 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

"His last innings at Grace Road as a Leicestershire player.

He has been a wonderful servant for Leicestershire.

He's trudging off very slowly indeed."

    Slater c Simpson b Karvelas 18 (Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 37-1)

My word, this has got up on Ben Slater.

It's just back of a length from Ari Karvelas but it absolutely takes off and Slater is caught behind by John Simpson.

Slater looks unhappy. It can only be the thinnest of brushes off his glove.

Somerset 0-1 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

Here comes Ben Cliff for Yorkshire, fresh off the back of a career-best 8-76 in the first innings.

Tom Lammonby is on a pair for Somerset. He'll be keen to get off that asap.

  9. Postpublished at 15:19 BST 17 September

Somerset 0-1 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

That's exactly the start Yorkshire (and Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire) would have hoped for.

Couldn't have started worse for Somerset. Wicket maiden first over for Ben Coad with Josh Thomas' game already over.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:18 BST 17 September

    R Patel c Brown b Currie 27 - Leics 41-1 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Rishi Patel shapes to drive Scott Currie through the off side and gets an inside edge to mid-wicket for no run.

Currie finds the edge as Rishi Patel is forward to defend and the ball lands short and wide of the slips.

Edged to the keeper this time! Gone!

A promising innings in a demanding chase comes to an end and here comes Rehan Ahmed as Patel leaves the field for the last time as a Leicestershire player.

  11. Super sub Pottspublished at 15:17 BST 17 September

    Northants 310 v Derby 372 & 212-7

Nicky Potts had a tough act to follow when coming on as an injury replacement for Ben Aitchison who, at the time, was the division's joint highest wicket taker and had scored a century earlier in the match.

But the sub isn't faring badly. He took three wickets in the Northants innings, albeit some poor shots contributed to those.

Now Potts is impressing with the bat hitting six boundaries so far to reach 28 as Derbyshire try to stretch their lead which is currently 274.

    Thomas c Bairstow b Coad 0 (Somerset 0-1 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire)

    WOW.

No sooner than Somerset's run chase has started, they find themselves 0-1.

Ben Coad finds the thinnest outside edge of Josh Thomas' bat and Jonny Bairstow takes the catch behind the stumps.

An uphill task just got a whole lot tougher for the visitors.

  13. Somerset chase of 287 beginspublished at 15:14 BST 17 September

Somerset 0-0 - target 287 to beat Yorkshire

As run chases go, they don't come much more important than this one for Somerset.

Their season and hopes of winning a first ever County Championship title rest on what happens in this second innings for the visitors.

  14. Postpublished at 15:13 BST 17 September

Leics 41-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

A flashing drive outside off by Sheridon Gumbs and a miss off the bowling of James Fuller.

Fuller gets one ball to jag in sharply, perhaps off the footmarks, but Gumbs survives the over.

  15. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 17 September

    Sussex 358 v Notts 240 & 29-0

Ben Slater drills through extra cover off Ari Karvelas for four and he is onto 14.

Notts have reduced the Sussex lead to 89 runs.

  16. Draw keeps Glamorgan uppublished at 15:12 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 594 - tea, day three

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Fun in the sun for Glamorgan’s last wicket pair of Mason Crane (114*) and Mir Hamza (35) as they added 98 to push Surrey’s target up to 612.

Crane thrashed his second 50 off 38 balls and then moved past his previous best of 106, against Surrey earlier this season.

Hamza, who had to face just eight balls as Crane moved from 52 to three figures, then joined in the party with some big hits of his own.

Surrey have four sessions to survive, but a draw will be enough to keep Glamorgan up.

  17. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 17 September

Leics 41-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

A decent start. But we shan't get too excited.

  18. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 17 September

Leics 41-0 (target 334 to beat Hampshire)

Rishi Patel blocks the first ball from Scott Currie and then waves in the direction of the dressing room. A call for fresh gloves maybe?

The third ball is driven straight and stopped by a diving mid off.

Patel defends down the ground and Sheridon Gumbs picks the ball up from the non-striker's end. Don't you need to ask the fielders for permission to do that?

The sixth ball of the over is carved over backward point on the back foot by Patel for four.

Assuming it's all over for Somerset is ridiculous to me, it's clearly became easier for the batsmen over the last day and Somersets batsmen are no mugs, won't see this many Yorkshire fans chirping up tomorrow evening

    Tom, Exeter

We always make it hard for ourselves, come on the Cidermen.

    Paul, Brecon

If Vaughan can get 2 for 8 who knows what Yadav and Bess can do on this wicket, Yorks to skittle them today for 120

    Sam, Leeds

    It's getting heated already...

  20. 200 runs

200 up for Derbyshirepublished at 15:08 BST 17 September

    Northants 310 v Derby 372 & 202-7

In the context of the match this has been a pretty even day at Northampton.

Derbyshire have been steadily building the lead despite managing only one 50 partnership so far.

They're 264 ahead so Northants will be facing a tricky run chase.
