Muyeye LBW b Bailey 43 - Kent 99-3 (target 140 to beat Lancashire)

Sam Northeast defends Tom Bailey into the off side.

Northeast drives with a thick inside edge leg side for one.

Tawanda Muyeye is across the line... hit on the pad. Out!

A fine innings from Muyeye in a vital chase ends with applause from the Kent faithful.

Lancashire strike. Might there be a twist in the tale?

Here comes host captain Daniel Bell-Drummond to bat.

  2. new ball

New ball taken by Somersetpublished at 12:13 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 192-6 v Somerset 201

Somerset would have really hoped to avoid the Yorkshire innings getting to the 80-over mark when they had them 54-6 in the 34th.

But here we are thanks to an excellent 138-run partnership between George Hill and Dom Bess.

The visitors take the new ball and Lewis Gregory will have the first go with it.

  3. Postpublished at 12:11 BST 17 September

Kent 98-2 (target 140 to beat Lancashire)

Three slips wait for James Anderson.

Tawanda Muyeye follows a leg side ball and an appeal for caught behind is turned down. Hip only is Muyeye's indication.

Maiden over. 42 needed for Kent to win.

  4. Postpublished at 12:11 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 192-6 v Somerset 201

    Wow, this is almighty close.

George Hill thumps one down the ground from Migael Pretorius and Pretorius gets something on it to deflect the ball onto the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Dom Bess has to react quickly to ground his bat and just manages to get it down in the nick of time.

Somerset could use a bit of luck like that, mind.

  5. Postpublished at 12:10 BST 17 September

    Northants 310 v Derby 372 & 75-4

It's been a decent morning for the home side at Northampton and in particular for Australian bowler Liam Gutherie.

He's claimed three of four wickets to fall which has kept Northants in contention for the win they need to retain the initiative over Kent in the second division promotion race.

    Derbyshire's lead is 137.

  6. Postpublished at 12:09 BST 17 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 300-6

The Hampshire 300 arrives in the 91st over as Ben Mayes clips Nathan Gilchrist (having his first bowl of the day) leg side for one.

    The lead is 270.

Tom Bailey will bowl at the other end. Three slips in.

Sam Northeast works the ball to square leg for one.

Tawanda Muyeye cuts for one more - and the third ball is short, wide and cut for four.

    A no-ball follows for overstepping.

A tighter line and length now and Northeast defends as sunshine breaks through the Canterbury cloud.

    Yorkshire 212 & 190-6 v Somerset 201

George Hill pushes Migael Pretorius through the covers for three more for Yorkshire and their lead is now up to 201.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Dom Besspublished at 12:03 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 187-6 v Somerset 201

Dom Bess comes back for two off Migael Pretorius but he's cutting it very fine...

Jake Ball with some fine fielding in the deep to get the throw in quickly and James Rew whips the bails off.

But Bess was just home in time and then he nudges a single to go through to his 50 from 130 balls.

What a vital partnership this has been between Bess, who picks up his 23rd first class half-century, and George Hill.

  12. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 17 September

Kent 90-2 (target 140 to beat Lancashire)

The first ball of the day is smashed through cover by Tawanda Muyeye for four. Lovely timing.

The fourth James Anderson ball is worked to leg for one.

One run for Sam Northeast with a clip to leg.

    50 needed.

  13. Chase resumes at Canterburypublished at 12:01 BST 17 September

Kent 84-2 (target 140 to beat Lancashire)

The chase is on. A bit of applause as the Kent not out batters make their way to the middle.

56 needed. How do Kent approach this? Go hard and put the game to bed early or take a more measured approach?

Tawanda Muyeye takes guard first on 37 - facing Sir James Anderson.

Sam Northeast is at the non-striker's end on 23.

Ben Mayes gets a thick outside edge to deep third for one.

  17. Postpublished at 11:56 BST 17 September

    Yorkshire 212 & 182-6 v Somerset 201

More runs for Yorkshire and this is getting a bit edgy for Somerset now.

It's short and wide from Migael Pretorius and Dom Bess makes the most of it, swatting away with a late cut to the point boundary.

Bess is now four away from 50 and Yorkshire lead by 193.

Really happy for Adam Hose - we were right in front of him at Trent Bridge when he got that horror injury last year, so it's wonderful to see him back in the runs.

  19. 400 lead for Glamorganpublished at 11:55 BST 17 September

    Surrey 115 v Glamorgan 132 & 383-7

It's been cautious stuff from Glamorgan who've added 44 in 19 overs so far this morning.

They've lost two wickets to Auqib Nabi, playing in his last game of the county season before joining up with the India ODI squad for a home series against West Indies.

Glamorgan's lead is 400 but they'll want plenty more.

  20. Postpublished at 11:53 BST 17 September

    Leicestershire 244 v Hampshire 214 & 296-6

Another fine delivery from Ben Green - who continues to get bounce and movement off a lively pace with the new ball.

Ben Mayes is struck on the pad. Not out. Did he hit that?

Squared up and missing on the crease.

The fifth ball is driven and squirted through point for two, taking Mayes off the mark in tough conditions.
