  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:05 BST 22 August

    Martindale st Foakes b Lomror 1 (Surrey v Notts 258-6 - lead by 280)

One brings two for Surrey! They have a second wicket in the space of seven balls.

Mahipal Lomror beats the edge of Ben Martindale but Ben Foakes behind the stumps produces lightning quick reactions and finds Martindale short of his ground. The square leg umpire agrees and gives it out.

The door might just be ajar now, for Surrey.

  2. Postpublished at 13:04 BST 22 August

    Leicestershire 162-6 v Glamorgan - lead by 161

Huge appeals from the entire Glamorgan team as Ray Toole hits the pad of Ben Mike, but the umpire's finger stays down. It looked a good shout but may have missed leg.

  3. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:03 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 208-6 - lead by 184

The first session comes to an end at the Utilita Bowl and it a session that undoubtedly belongs to Yorkshire.

The White Rose put in a dogged first hour of batting before Matthew Revis was bowled by Andrew Neal for 16.

That wicket has not affected Jonny Bairstow or James Wharton - who will return to the crease after lunch just three runs short of his half-century.

Yorkshire's lead of 184 looks a menacing one.

  4. Postpublished at 13:01 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 46-1 - lead by 173

A dismissive pull shot from Will Rhodes who fires Brett Randell to the boundary for four.

Durham have steadied the ship well since losing a wicket with the first ball of their second innings.

They are in a commanding position of this one, 173 runs ahead with nine wickets still standing.

  5. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:59 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 200-6 - lead by 176

That's more like the Jonny Bairstow we all know.

He times this slog sweep beautifully and it bounces into the third row of the stands for his first six of the innings.

A good shot and a good first session for Yorkshire who have lost just one wicket since close of play last night.

It also brings up Yorkshire's 200.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:57 BST 22 August

    Clarke b Fisher 95 (Notts 257-5 v Surrey - lead by 279)

Huge wicket for Surrey - and it is that of Joe Clarke!

Matt Fisher has bowled very well this morning with little reward and a fair bit of misfortune with edges which have raced to the boundary, rather than into the hands of teammates.

This is a length ball which keeps low and catches Clarke out. The Notts batter has been excellent this morning session but he must now depart five short of what would have been a merited ton.

Ben Martindale joins Kyle Verreynne (46*) in the middle.

  7. Postpublished at 12:55 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 190-6 - lead by 166

James Wharton has not put a foot wrong in his innings but this sweep here is slightly ill-advised.

It's gone up in the air but landed safe as Ali Orr's cries of catch fall on deaf ears.

Wharton is five runs short of his half-century now.

  8. wicket

LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 137published at 12:54 BST 22 August

    Stanley lbw b Chahal 13 (Lancashire 137 all out v Northants 284)

Take that! Mitchell Stanley launches Yuzvendra Chahal for the first six of the innings.

It takes Lancashire past the follow-on target. Small mercies and all that...

But Chahal has his revenge as he pins him on the back foot next ball with a quicker one. Classic leggie's wicket to a tailender.

Lancashire have lost 8-57 this morning, Northants will be cock-a-hoop with how it's gone.

Ben Sanderson's 4-39 tops the honours from the bowlers.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Ben Comptonpublished at 12:53 BST 22 August

    Middlesex v Kent 147-3 - lead by 248

A single sees Ben Compton reach a typical half-century.

At his own pace and doing an excellent job for his side as he bats Middlesex out of the game.

Kent look sure of setting more than 300 in the final innings, which would be a very tall order.

  10. 6 runs

Clarke moves into the ninetiespublished at 12:50 BST 22 August

    Notts 252-4 v Surrey - lead by 274

Joe Clarke moves into the nineties.

This shot, off the bowling of spinner Mahipal Lomror, is stand and deliver stuff as Clarke lifts him handsomely straight for a maximum.

Clarke now moves onto 93 and Notts have brought up 250.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:50 BST 22 August

    Ibrahim lbw Barnard 17 (Warks v Sussex 167-7 - lead by 162)

    No doubt.

Dan Ibrahim plays all around a straight one from Ed Barnard, who picks up his second wicket in this spell.

Henry Crocombe comes out at number nine for Sussex.

  12. Postpublished at 12:49 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 132-3 - trail by 179)

Migael Pretorius overpitches and a checked drive by Matt Critchley brings him the first boundary of his innings.

Charlie Allison has yet to score at the other end and Essex cannot afford any further setbacks before lunch.

  13. 150 runs

150 up for Leicestershirepublished at 12:46 BST 22 August

    Leicestershire 151-6 v Glamorgan - lead by 150

Leicestershire bring up 150 and in doing so they match their first innings total.

It is brought up in style, with Sheridon Gumbs sending a commanding stroke to the cover boundary for four from the bowling of Zain ul-Hassan. Gumbs remains defiant and the wicket Glamorgan would dearly love to claim.

There is now a pause in play as multiple Glamorgan fielders and Leicestershire staff work to retrieve the ball, which appears to be lost under the pitch-side covers!

  14. Postpublished at 12:43 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 185-6 - lead by 161

Jonny Bairstow (4*) has not looked as assured as his partner James Wharton (43*) and looks to attack into the offside but only finds a bottom edge which somehow misses the outside of off-stump.

Hard to tell if the hand injury which Bairstow sustained yesterday has affected the former England wicketkeeper but he is looking to force the run-rate when time is still on his side.

20 minutes before lunch is expected to be taken at the Utilita Bowl.

  15. wicket

WORCESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 267published at 12:42 BST 22 August

    D'Oliveira b Kishore 83 (Glos 150 v Worcs 267 all out)

No century for Brett D'Oliveira as he is bowled by an absolute peach from Sai Kishore that turns right across the right-hander and hits off-stump.

Kishore finishes with an impressive 4-76, but D'Oliveira's score gives the Pears a more-than-useful cushion of 117 at halfway.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:40 BST 22 August

    Westley c Abell b Leach 22 (Somerset v Essex 127-3 - trail by 184)

Two wickets in the space of five balls for Somerset and Essex skipper Tom Westley won't be happy about that one.

It was a really poor shot as he tried to drive Jack Leach without getting his front foot to the pitch of the ball and only succeeded in lobbing a catch to Tom Abell at cover.

Essex very much in dire straits now.

  17. Clarke not outpublished at 12:38 BST 22 August

Notts 230-4 v Surrey (Notts lead by 252)

A moment of significance at The Oval.

Matthew Fisher thinks he has the prize wicket of Joe Clarke, who offers a leading edge which flies to gully where Adam Thomas takes a low catch - or does he?

The fielder himself is of the belief he has taken the ball cleanly before it hits the ground and Surrey momentarily celebrate, but following an umpire consultation the final decision is not out.

It looked close on replays. Clarke has a reprieve and Notts' fifth-wicket stand remains in tact - it is now worth 83.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:36 BST 22 August

    Elgar c Rew b Pretorius 56 (Somerset v Essex 127-2 - trail by 184)

A body blow for Essex as South African opener Dean Elgar departs.

It's a fine delivery from Migael Pretorius which leaves him off the pitch and it's a comfortable catch for James Rew.

  19. Postpublished at 12:35 BST 22 August

    Dermot Reeve
Ex-Warwickshire captain on BBC Radio WM

Warwickshire will want to wrap up these remaining wickets for 20 to make sure they are only chasing 170, 180.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:34 BST 22 August

    Bailey c Harrison b Guthrie 4 (Lancashire 120-9 v Northants 284)

Four, wide, wicket. And it's two in the over for Luke Guthrie!

The Aussie left-armer is crashed to the fence by Tom Bailey first ball, then sends down a wide before having the tailender edging to second slip.

Guthrie has three and Ben Sanderson, four as Lancashire are being blown away by promotion-chasing Northants.
