  1. Durham lead by 150published at 12:34 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire v Durham 23-1 - lead by 150

After Alex Lees was dismissed for a golden duck, it's been a positive start from Durham's Will Rhodes and Ben McKinney and 11 runs off an expensive Brett Randell over sees their lead move up to 150.

Randell has now been taken out of the attack and replaced by Anuj Dal.

  2. wicket

    Haines c Yates b Barnard 67 (Warks v Sussex 164-6 - lead by 159)

Huge breakthrough by Warwickshire with half-an-hour to go before lunch.

Tom Haines pushes forward to Ed Barnard and Rob Yates takes a good low catch at second slip.

Haines stands his ground for a second and looks at the square leg umpire to check whether the catch carried, but he has to go.

The Sussex skipper hit 10 fours in his 114-ball innings but that first Championship century of the season continues to elude him.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:30 BST 22 August

    Noman lbw b Guthrie 1 (Lancashire 115-8 v Northants 284)

Noman Ali has done a lot of blocking, but he can block no more as Luke Guthrie sends one into the Pakistan left-hander's pads.

20 minutes and 20 balls amount to a total of one run and Lancashire are in a heap of trouble.

They have slipped from 104-3 to 115-8.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:27 BST 22 August

    Allison lbw b Ahmed 4 (Glos 150 v Worcs 259-9)

Ben Allison has got Worcestershire past 250 and a first batting point, but he will hang around no longer.

Very perpendicular from Daz Ahmed and the finger goes up.

Fateh Singh emerges as number 11 to join Brett D'Oliveira.

  5. Yorkshire lead by 150published at 12:24 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 174-6 - lead by 150

James Wharton goes on the sweep to pick up a couple and that takes Yorkshire's lead up to 150.

Chris & Nigel, the points system helps to reward a team that has the best of a draw, eg when rain rescues a team following on. Not perfect but perhaps the least bad way to do it.

  7. 200 runs

200 up for Nottspublished at 12:23 BST 22 August

    Notts 209-4 v Surrey - lead by 226

Kyle Verreynne has settled into his innings now. He has just guided Tom Lawes to the square leg boundary before helping himself to another boundary in the off side the very next ball.

Verreynne is not done for the over, in which Notts bring up 200, and he punches Lawes again to the rope. The over in all costs Surrey 14 runs. Verreynne is now on 29 and Joe Clarke on 70.

  8. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 121-1 - trail by 190

Game now very much on at Taunton as left-arm spinner Jack Leach enters the attack. Only one slip and a short leg.

Early turn beats Tom Westley's bat but the ball goes through the legs of keeper James Rew and runs away for four byes.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Sheridon Gumbspublished at 12:18 BST 22 August

    Leicestershire 135-6 v Glamorgan - lead by 134

That is a really well made half-century by young Sheridon Gumbs, even if the boundary which brings up his 50 is not his most convincing shot.

Gumbs looks to cut spinner Ben Kellaway, but he ends up edging through first slip's legs and it runs down to the boundary at third.

The following delivery Gumbs pushes past extra cover but, remarkably, the ball stops a foot short of the boundary rope and, by the time Billy Root returns it to the middle, Gumbs has come back for three more.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:16 BST 22 August

    Revis b Neal 16 (Hants v Yorkshire 171-6 - lead 147)

    Hampshire make an important breakthrough.

Slow left-armer Andrew Neal drifts one in and it beats the outside edge of Matthew Revis, seeing his off-stump taken out the ground.

Revis is beaten all ends-up and an important sixth-wicket stand worth 46 with James Wharton ends.

Jonny Bairstow trots down the steps to the crease at number eight for Yorkshire.

  11. 'How many batters have scored 20?'published at 12:16 BST 22 August

    Warks v Sussex 144-5 - lead by 139 runs

    Dermot Reeve
Ex-Warwickshire captain on BBC Radio WM

200 should be defendable (for Sussex) if they bowl well and put the ball in the right areas. You are saying there that every batsman needs to score 20, and how many have done that in this match?

Tom Haines has 62 (at the moment), which on this pitch is worth 100.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:13 BST 22 August

    Swanepoel b Williams 42 (Glos 150 v Worcs 248-8)

Beyers Swanepoel has his off-stump sent flying by Will Williams.

But that is a good knock from the number nine and a fine partnership of 71 with Brett D'Oliveira.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:12 BST 22 August

    Holland c Carlson b ul-Hassan 6 (Leicestershire 128-6 v Glamorgan - lead by 127)

Zain ul Hassan has a third wicket.

This length ball pops up and Ian Holland, who had beaten the mid-off fielder earlier in the over when driving to the boundary, edges it through to Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson at third slip.

Sheridon Gumbs is still there for Leicestershire on 46 but Glamorgan are on top after a fruitful morning's play.

  14. Postpublished at 12:11 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 117-1 - trail by 194

Bowling change by Somerset, who call up left-arm seamer Tom Lammonby.

After a couple of dot balls, he drops short and Dean Elgar thumps it away square for four.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:11 BST 22 August

    Muyeye lbw b Gohar 64 (Middlesex v Kent 102-3 - lead by 203)

    Middlesex needed this!

Tawanda Muyeye goes to sweep, misses it and is adjudged LBW when it hits him on the pads.

A good knock though, after coming in at 9-2 last night.

  16. Run out chancepublished at 12:11 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 167-5 - lead by 143

A little risky from Matthew Revis who calls for a single and there's a direct hit from a diving Nick Gubbins at cover but James Wharton is alert and dives in to make his ground.

Hampshire's first real opportunity of unearthing a wicket for a long while.

Yorkshire are 143 runs ahead in what has been a dogged first hour of play, picking up important runs whenever they can.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:09 BST 22 August

    Walkden c sub (Kimber) b Sanderson 0 (Lancashire 113-7 v Northants 284)

Two in two and Ben Sanderson is on a hat-trick.

No hat-trick, but still Sanderson has ripped through Lancashire's batting this morning.

Ben Walkden impressed with the ball, but it'a first-baller with the bat as he edges Sanderson to third slip.

Noman Ali survives, but Sanderson has three this morning, and four for the innings.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:07 BST 22 August

    Flintoff lbw b Sanderson 15 (Lancashire 113-6 v Northants 284)

    Experience trumps youth, part two.

Rocky Flintoff had struck a couple of nice boundaries, including an outstanding cover drive off Yazvendra Chahal's leg-spin, but he plays round one from Ben Sanderson.

His front pad seems to get stuck - is the ball sliding down? Not, accoriding to the umpire.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Tawanda Muyeyepublished at 12:04 BST 22 August

    Middlesex v Kent 97-2 - lead by 194

Tawanda Muyeye is playing a good hand here for Kent.

A couple takes him to a fine half-century and from the next ball, he confidently thumps Ryan Higgins through midwicket for four.

And again! A lovely legside clip for another boundary.

This partnership between him and Ben Compton is now worth a very valuable 88.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:03 BST 22 August

    Simpson c Davies b Hannon-Dalby 11 (Warks v Sussex 131-5 - lead by 126)

    Superb by Warwickshire.

Olly Hannon-Dalby finds movement away from the defensive bat of John Simpson and Alex Davies flies to his left behind the stumps to take the edge in both hands.

Dan Ibrahim is the new Sussex batter - drafted into the team as a replacement for injured Fynn Hudson-Prentice. Can it really be six seasons since he made his Championship debut? Seems like just a few months to us. Where does the time go?.
