  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:32 BST 22 August

    Kelly c Ingram b Toole 12 (Leicestershire 104-4 v Glamorgan - lead by 103)

Excellent bowling from Ray Toole bears fruit.

Nick Kelly is a little fortuitous when he clears the slips - with Asa Tribe at full stretch - having swiped at Toole's first ball, and then the quick cramps him up with a short ball which Kelly actually does well to take his bat out of the equation.

The third one proves to be too good, Toole finds the edge and Colin Ingram takes a simple catch in the cordon.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:32 BST 22 August

    Walter b Ball 43 (Somerset v Essex - trail by 229)

Jake Ball got rid of Paul Walter in the Essex first innings and he's done him again!

Walter tries to drive but a thin inside edge sees the ball hit off stump and he is gone.

Tom Westley comes to the middle at number three.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:31 BST 22 August

    Dal b Potts 12 (Derbys 146-8 v Durham 283 - trail by 137)

Bowled him - brilliant from Matthew Potts!

Its another in-swinger, through the defences of Anuj Dal, and he walks for 12.

Derbyshire on the back foot here - 137 runs behind with just two wickets remaining.

Potts will now be bowling to his namesake, Nick Potts.

James Coles is a very talented batsman but you can't take liberties on this pitch.

  5. 100 runs

100 up for Leicestershirepublished at 11:29 BST 22 August

Leicestershire 100-3 v Glamorgan (Leics lead by 99)

A punch into the covers by Nick Kelly allows for a single and brings up three figures for Leicestershire.

Sheridon Gumbs is 37 not out and has played a disciplined hand so far this morning.

    The lead is 99.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:27 BST 22 August

    Coles b Woakes 7 (Warks v Sussex 94-4 - lead by 89)

James Coles - what were you thinking?

Chris Woakes is rewarded for a superb spell so far as the Sussex batter shuffles across and a full-length delivery bowls him behind his legs.

The leg-stump goes flying and John Simpson comes out to the middle on a pair. His nerves are calmed with an immediate single.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:26 BST 22 August

    Jennings c sub (Kimber) b Guthrie 19 (Lancashire 80-3 v Northants 284)

Breakthrough on day three for the visitors.

Luke Guthrie was unlucky to have Arav Shetty dropped, but no such problems this time.

Keaton Jennings has battled but struggled for fluency and he is comfortably taken on the drive at third slip by sub fielder Louis Kimber.

Rocky Flintoff is the new batter to the crease.

  8. Postpublished at 11:23 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 80-0 - trail by 231

Jake Ball is too full and Dean Elgar drives past mid-off for the four.

A single follows and Ball is then guilty of dropping too short as Paul Walter swivels to collect the second boundary of the over with an authoritative pull shot. He moves into the 40s.

Migael Pretorius takes up the attack for the next over and is convinced he has Elgar leg-before. The umpire says no but the South African may be fortunate there is no review available in this game.

Points scoring is a mess in the county championship. Needs reviewing.

  10. Postpublished at 11:23 BST 22 August

    Surrey v Notts 157-4 - lead by 179)

Handsome off-drives by both Joe Clarke and Kyle Verreynne, new to the crease, have been the highlights of an otherwise watchful start made by Notts this morning.

  11. Postpublished at 11:21 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 141-5 - lead by 117

A slow-ish start to proceedings on day three at the Utilita Bowl.

Yorkshire have added six to their overnight total with Kyle Abbott and Sonny Baker testing Matthew Revis and James Wharton with a consistent line and length.

This one remains on a knife-edge you feel.

  12. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:20 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 71-0 - trail by 240

It's only a few days ago that Paul Walter was smashing it about in The Hundred for Manchester Super Giants.

Now back in a white short for Essex, he produces a Hundredesque slog sweep to despatch Archie Vaughan into the empty seats at deep mid-wicket.

"And the morning is for you, And the air is free, And the birds sing for you, And your positivity," as Mr Brett Anderson once put it.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:18 BST 22 August

    Lancashire 73-2 v Northants 284

A big reprieve for Arav Shetty on 15 as he is dropped by Nathan McSweeney at mid-wicket.

Luke Guthrie slings one in and Shetty flicks it aerially into the legside, but the Australian does not hang on.

  14. Postpublished at 11:16 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 64-0 - trail by 247

Jake Ball tests out Paul Walter with a bouncer - the tall left-hander pulls but fails to make contact.

It's a similar story at the end of the over as Walter tries to flick to mid-wicket but Ball finds enough movement to beat the edge.

  15. 50 runs

50 up for Kentpublished at 11:15 BST 22 August

    Middlesex v Kent 55-2 - lead by 156

A positive start from the Kent pair of Ben Compton and Tawanda Muyeye as they have taken the score past 50.

Remember, they have a 101-run cushion from the first innings so a good day of batting will put them in a fine position.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:12 BST 22 August

    Aitchison lbw b Potts 11 (Derbyshire 135-7 v Durham 283)

Matthew Potts gets his third wicket of the match.

The right-arm fast bowler angles one in and strikes Ben Aitchison on the pads.

Aitchison is not hanging around. He walks straight off and Durham have their seventh.

The hosts still trail by 148.

  17. Postpublished at 11:12 BST 22 August

    Warks 161 v Sussex 156 & 87-3

Chris Woakes beats Tom Haines outside off-stump.

There is extravagant movement from the next one which flies between the keeper and first slip and runs away for a couple of byes.

    Danger signs for Sussex.

  19. Postpublished at 11:10 BST 22 August

    Derbyshire 135-6 v Durham 283

A lot of England experience in this Durham side as Brydon Carse is currently into the attack backing up Matthew Potts at the other end.

Ben Stokes is in the field this morning for the visitors, currently positioned at mid-off.

A slightly streaky boundary from Ben Aitchison off Potts means Derbyshire have now avoided the follow-on.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:10 BST 22 August

    Shaikh c Cooke b Gorvin 8 (Leicestershire 151 & 91-3 v Glamorgan 152)

Breakthrough this morning for Glamorgan at Grace Road!

Hamza Shaikh flashes successive fours to the boundary rope off the bowling of Andy Gorvin to get himself off the mark but, undeterred, the Glammy seamer delivers a ball outside of off which the young Leicestershire batter cannot help but nick behind.

Big early wicket for Glamorgan in their efforts to minimise Leicestershire's second innings lead.
