WICKETpublished at 12:03 BST 22 August

    Lees c Andersson b Aitchison 0 (Derbyshire v Durham 0-1 - lead by 127)

Gone first ball - Alex Lees walks for a golden duck!

As soon as Durham begin their second innings, they lose their first wicket.

Ben Aitchison puts it into the right area and Lees edges to Martin Andersson at gully who makes a good low catch in front of him. That is Aitchison's 46th wicket of the County Championship season.

Perfect start to the second innings for the home side.

  2. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 113-1 - trail by 198

Tom Westley does love that shot. A high flourish as he again despatches Migael Pretorius to mid-wicket for four. The deficit is now under 200.

Essex, though, remain a long way from feeling comfortable.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:01 BST 22 August

    Tattersall b ul-Hassan 9 (Leicestershire 122-5 v Glamorgan - lead by 121)

    Glamorgan get another!

Zain ul-Hassan takes the off pole of Jonny Tattersall who does not read the swing. Tattersall leaves, thinking the ball will swing away but instead it nips back and Glammy have a fifth!

  4. Postpublished at 12:00 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 159-5 - lead by 135

This current sixth-wicket partnership between Matthew Revis and James Wharton is now worth 34 which incredibly is the second highest in the entire match.

Without wishing to jinx them or any Yorkshire fans, these two look set and have been very impressive in their defences in the first hour of day three.

  5. Postpublished at 12:00 BST 22 August

    Warks v Sussex 123-4 - lead by 118

Did that carry? Olly Hannon-Dalby finds the edge of Tom Haines' bat but keeper Alex Davies is unable to take it cleanly.

An hour gone and Sussex have added 39 runs for the loss of James Coles so far this morning.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:56 BST 22 August

    Moores b Chahal 1 (Lancashire 107-5 v Northants 284)

Northants captain Luke Procter decides now is the time to throw the ball to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

And from his third legitimate delivery, he strikes!

Joe Moores goes back and that is vital as the ball spins past the left-hander's bat and into the stumps.

  7. wicket

DERBYSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 156published at 11:52 BST 22 August

    Bashir b Potts 3 (Derbyshire 156 v Durham 283 - trail by 127)

Emphatic from Matthew Potts and he has a five-wicket haul!

Another one that angles in and it's straight through the gate of Shoaib Bashir.

Middle stump out of the ground. Durham will begin their second innings 127 runs ahead of their hosts.

Potts walks off with figures of 5-46.

  8. 50 runs

for Dean Elgarpublished at 11:50 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 104-1 - trail by 207

Glorious by Dean Elgar, who eases the ball back past the stumps off Migael Pretorius and reaches his 50 off 91 balls with a boundary.

Prestorius responds with a good one which the South African edges just short of first slip.

    Leicestershire 113-4 v Glamorgan - Leics lead by 112

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It’s a case of “hit out and get out” at Leicester as the pitch continues to play tricks for the batters.

Hamza Shaikh smashed Andy Gorvin for successive fours and edged the next ball, while Kiwi Nick Kelly dispatched three boundaries before nicking Ray Toole to slip.

Rookie Sheridon Gumbs is getting the balance of aggression and defence right as Leicestershire probably realise a lead of 200 would pose a demanding target.

Toole’s medium-fast pace has been enough to cause several balls to rear nastily with question marks over how harshly the officials are going to judge this surface.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:48 BST 22 August

    N Potts b Carse 2 (Derbys 153-9 v Durham 283)

Brydon Carse strikes his first wicket of the match.

A good length delivery and Nick Potts has no answer, seeing his off-stump removed.

Shoaib Bashir walks to the crease as last man in for the home side who trail by 130. I wonder if Ben Stokes will fancy an over at him.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:47 BST 22 August

    Shetty lbw b Sanderson 37 (Lancashire 104-4 v Northants 284)

Arav Shetty slashes at one from outside off from Ben Sanderson's bowling and gets four over the slips.

But experience trumps youth next ball as Sanderson gets one to nip back off the seam, it keeps a bit low and Shetty is absolutely plumb.

Northants will be happy with the first 50 minutes of play with two wickets in their pockets.

  12. 50 runs

50 up for Joe Clarkepublished at 11:47 BST 22 August

    Surrey v Notts 169-4 - lead by 192

Another terrific drive by Joe Clarke brings up his half-century at The Oval.

It has been a patient showing by the Notts batter, who has taken a blow to the hand this morning, but he has still produced some excellent shots when punishing 'hit-me' balls.

  13. 50 runs

for Tom Hainespublished at 11:45 BST 22 August

    Warks v Sussex 116-4 - lead by 111

Another edge by Tom Haines, another boundary.

But they all count and the Sussex opener reaches his fourth Championship 50 of the season, this one from 93 balls.

The challenge for him now is to go on to a hundred, something which - surprisingly - he hasn't yet managed in 2026.

  14. 150 runs

150 up for Yorkshirepublished at 11:44 BST 22 August

    Hants v Yorkshire 150-5 - lead by 126

Matthew Revis nudges a single into the legside to bring up Yorkshire's 150.

Revis and James Wharton have seen off Hampshire's opening bowlers, Kyle Abbott and Sonny Baker, without the loss of a wicket in a gritty start to the day's proceedings by the visitors.

  15. Sussex lead passes 100published at 11:42 BST 22 August

    Warks v Sussex 111-4 - lead by 106

Unconvincing by Tom Haines who edges between second slip and gully, but the ball rolls away to the boundary as Sussex's lead reaches 100.

Better from Haines as he drives and although good fielding denies him another boundary, three runs takes him to 48 not out.

Woakes strays onto John Simpson's pads and is flicked away fine for four. An unusually expensive over from the former England paceman.

@Nigel 11.23, points scoring in all cricket is a mess. I don't understand why it's not like football - 3 for a win, 1 for a draw/tie simple. Batting and bowling points is utter madness

  17. Postpublished at 11:40 BST 22 August

    Somerset v Essex 89-1 - trail by 222

That should make Tom Westley feel a little better.

Out for nought in the first innings, he clips Migael Pretorius to the mid-wicket boundary to open his account.

  18. ouch!

Postpublished at 11:37 BST 22 August

    Surrey v Notts 162-4 - lead by 184

Briliant fielding qualities on display from Ollie Pope at The Oval. Kyle Verreynne drops the bat on the ball into the gully region and looks for a single. Joe Clarke scurries through and is just home, but not before Pope has removed a stump from the ground with a brutal direct hit.

Jordan Clark has now just rapped Clarke on the glove and there is a stoppage with the Notts batter needing some treatment.

  19. 150 runs

150 up for Derbyshirepublished at 11:36 BST 22 August

    Derbys 150-8 v Durham 283

Brett Randell tucks a couple into the leg side and that brings up Derbyshire's 150.

  20. 50 runs

    50 for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 11:33 BST 22 August

    Glos 150 v Worcs 226-7

Battling qualities on display once again from Worcestershire captain Brett D'Oliveira.

He has moved to 60 from 142 balls this morning as the Pears further nudge ahead.

They now lead by 76 and still have three wickets in hand.

While D'Oliveira is closing in on 500 Championship runs for the summer.
