  6. Singles strengthpublished at 18:58 BST 12 September

In fairness to Team Europe, the record in Solheim Cup singles over the past decade has been really strong even if on paper the US boast a higher-ranked team.

It is five editions since they lost a single session (in 2015 in Germany) and two years in Virginia, Charley Hull beat Nelly Korda 6&4 in match one.

A similar start tomorrow would be helpful.

Graphic showing point scorers: Linn Grant and Maja Stark 3; Alison Lee, Mimi Rhodes, Nastasia Nadaud and Esther Henseleit 2

Some encouragement for Team Europe would be that the most in-form players are on Anna Nordqvist's side.

On the flipside, only one American has not won at least one full point for Angela Stanford.

In blue, Celine Boutier has played three, lost three, while Lottie Woad, Charley Hull and Carlota Ciganda have only managed a half point each.

  8. Back in 2023published at 18:47 BST 12 September

Last time the Solheim Cup was in Europe in 2023, Saturday ended all square at 8-8.

And so did the singles at 14-14.

Then, a draw meant Europe retained the Solheim Cup.

If it finishes 14-14 tomorrow though, it'll be USA going home with the trophy, after they won it back last time out in 2024.

  10. 'That turned the tide'published at 18:38 BST 12 September

USA's captain Angela Stanford: "It was huge. That absolutely turned our tide. I thought if we get out of here at 7-9 we still have chance. But that turned the tide."

On whether she has witnessed anything like that before on the 18th hole: "No, not back-to-back like that. That was pretty special.

"I don't think those players know what they just did. Kupcho has had a tough couple of days, and today they were down, but she is a fighter.

"I have said that all along. Was that pretty special? 93 feet? Yes. She just doesn't give up and she is a fighter. Now her team has seen it in person, it is awesome."

On her plan for tomorrow: "I mean I had a couple of different versions that I was looking at. We are going to be somewhere in the middle of that."

Anna Nordqvist needs her top players to deliver. Lottie Woad and Charley Hull have not delivered enough points so far in this tournament. They need to go out and play their own game tomorrow and deliver for Europe.

Never thought how important captains' selections were - why no winning rookie duo nor Spanish duo - Carlotta had little help from out-of-form Boutier

    Norman, Esher

The captaincy of Nordqvist is right up there with the dreadful captaincy of Hal Sutton all those years ago! I would have dropped Hull and Woad after the first session! Solheim and Ryder is all about picking players in form over those days rather than picking on reputation.

    DC, Prestatyn

Hull/Woad have massively underperformed - Captain has got it wrong to pick them again today - no chemistry or confidence.

Historically, the United States have been better at singles than Europe.

And they rested world number one Nelly Korda this afternoon.

Plenty for Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist to ponder tonight.

  14. 'We're going to have a good plan'published at 18:31 BST 12 September

Europe's captain Anna Nordqvist: "They [Ciganda and Boutier] did everything they could. An unbelievable putt she [Kupcho] makes on 17 and even the putt on 18. You can't do anything about it.

"It has been a great match. Overall, I think it has been a great day. Tight going into tomorrow. I know that the girls are ready. I have an hour to figure out my order.

"We have had a really good week. The girls who didn't play today came out to support and get the crowds going. It has been really nice.

"We are going to be ready for tomorrow. Getting a lot of good rest. I have an hour to sit down and figure it out [order of play for Sunday]. I think it is going to be exciting. We will see what me and the vice-captains come up with. I think we're going to have a good plan."

    Kupcho/Duncan beat Ciganda/Boutier 1UP

Team USA's Jennifer Kupcho and Lindy Duncan, speaking after their emphatic fourballs victory...

Kupcho: "Walking up the green I just thought - OK during these practice rounds, I just whacked it. That was insane."

On it being the longest putt of her career: "Maybe actually my million dollar putt last year might have been just as long. We just did our job. They [Team USA] are out there chanting. My team won't shut up now."Duncan: "I feel pretty good. I was hitting it pretty good all day. Absolutely insane those putts she [Kupcho] made. On 17, I will never forget it.

"The crowd was so loud and so many Europe chants. We really did a good job. We stayed in our bubble. We were the same kind of pace all day."

Neither Jennifer Kupcho or Lindy Duncan had managed to get a point so far this week.

But just before they have to suit up in singles tomorrow, they've managed to turn their form around.

The kind of momentum that will have Europeans worried.
